Day 10

I got sick of the thumb stud, so I removed it.  It positioned my thumb a little lower on the blade than without it, and that put my thumb a little too close to the blade while it was swinging open.  I'm back au naturel  :tu:

@Juan el Boricua: hope it was something good (ideally reading "pay to the order of")! And you got 15 years out of a microwave?

@m47mut4nt: that's an interesting carabiner!

@Cypren: time to get some stuff done, eh?

@Sos24: I can see the hammer being well suited as a pushing tool.

@Rich_SD: sounds about right. The Signal blade is tricky enough to open one-handed as it left the factory.

Another great day, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 10

I guess the ferro rod might be decent enough for what it is. The whistle, on the other hand, could do well with a rework. The sound hole is so close to my lips that I couldn't consistently get it to make noise. However, it did consistently annoy Beijing (my dog). And the design prevents placement of any tools other than the saw on that side.

Guess it was, as it lasted 15 with me; it was second hand! It was also a Panasonic. Probably paid itself  a

Day 8

I'm team pocket-carry, and I'm not liking the Signal's pocket clip.  It makes the tool stick out too far.

Here it is compared to my ARC:

(Image removed from quote.)

Here it is next to my Curl:

(Image removed from quote.)

...and next to my Skeletool.  The thing I like least about the Skeletool is how far it sticks out of my pocket, but it is still not far enough that I don't like carrying it.  The Signal feels like it sticks out too far... but maybe I'll get used to it by the end of the month.

(Image removed from quote.)
I’m not a fan of the pocket clip either, it sits too high and not tight against pocket.

The ferro rod works but not that well which is why I went ahead and also replaced it with bit holder.

Normally, I would use my Micra scissors to remove shirt tags, but it's a challenge month.  The Signal's knife was a little overkill, but it worked perfectly  :tu:

Very nice!  In the early days of the Coyote release, that color was exclusive to Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops.
I had a Rebar and was so tempted to get a Signal back then.  Next visit to a store in Grand Rapids area, I visited to actually get two, one for me and one for Grant. Then they were GONE!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Thanks LC. I got a Coyote Tan Rebar at Cabelas. I ended up gifting it to my son’s Den Leader when he was in Cub Scouts. I might half to pick up a replacement one down the road. I do like that color combination.

@JonesE: Rich had the same question I did...what kind of whiskey?

@Sos24: are those Phillips or Torx?

@Cypren: that's one reason I hate moving!

@Juan el Boricua: what kind of dog? And you got your money's worth out of that microwave!

@Rich_SD: I might have to try that with the wire cutters...

Another great day, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 11

I clipped the Signal to my sling bag. It definitely fits better there. Perhaps it would work on my uniform pants, but it's not a work multi, and carrying it in that manner is risky. That's dinged paint on a city vehicle waiting to happen.

Day 11: (a bit late. Picture was actually taken in time, and poster on Instagram )

I gave another try at an "asymmetric purse" (yes, it looks suspiciously like some kind of leather sap)

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

This one sorted out much nicer than the PoC I did before.

Used the Signal plers head to pull on the needle of the finishing lock stiches, but honestly, nothing is much better than the Cobra XS for that task  :twak:

Day 11

Used the Signal to straighten out the clip on my Bosch laser after it got bent out of shape by sitting in the wrong position with it on my belt. Lesson learned: it's a bit too bulky for EDC, even if handy.

Did you get a chance to use it while carrying it there?  Did it seem more readily available?

Now, I must say, that Green Topo, in that glamour shot does look amazing.

I am not a fan of Green normally, but just seem to add a touch of class to your picks making them darn near irresistible 😉

I love the color and the top, but for an outdoor tool, it is not the best decision.  It easily blends in if set on the ground; I know from experience.
