Hello guys, my first post here.
About 25 years ago I bought a MiniBuck during a visit to NYC. This is a short-lived early keychain multitool, unusual in its combination of small size with a particularly elegant set of pliers (they feel more like surgical instruments than workshop tools).
The MiniBuck toolset also includes a set of tweezers. I never used these much but they broke about 10 years ago, seemingly for no reason. The break is halfway up one of the tweezer jaws, meaning that the tool is fine apart from the tweezers. However, I stopped EDCing the MiniBuck about that time.
I turned it up when I closed my workshop a month or so back and, on a whim, wrote to Buck to ask if they could repair the tweezers. They answered quickly but told me they no longer carry spares.
The conversation got me thinking: there are lots of alternative tools on the market now. Could I swap out the non-functioning tweezers for a set from another maker, or for some other tool? Has anyone else done this with a MiniBuck?
Best, NP
