Hi there,

I've just discovered this subforum and also want to become a timelord!  I only have three watches, but they should hopefully take me to level 2.  :)

Here's my collection:

The watch in the middle is a 1974 Tissot Navigator that I inherited from my grandfather after he passed. I actually wore this watch daily in my youth, approximately from the age of 14-19. It then required a service and as I didn't want to afford that, the watch ended up in a box for 10+ years. A couple of years ago I had it serviced by a good watchmaker that specializes in vintage watches. It's running flawlessly now and has kept all the scars it has collected over the years.

The other two are my daily watches, but the Explorer gets worn about 80-90% of the time. It's a versatile watch that can also be worn on a Perlon strap in the summer. I like the Speedmaster on a leather strap, but that makes it difficult on summer days. In winter it's sometimes not the most comfortable watch because of its height... But I looove the domed Hesalite crystal...

Very nice collection, although I prefer the saphire on the speedy.  :tu:

I'm not sure if I'm in a high enough tax bracket to even be looking at these but I really like the tachometer bezel on the Omega.

 Thank you, guys!  :)

"Only" three watches (worth more than my car).  Very nice.
I didn't want to come across as bragging - my watches are also worth more than my car's used value today.  :D Which is OK in my opinion and makes even sense financially. Almost every car will depreciate massively, whereas my two watches tend to hold their value over time (MSRPs rise constantly). They're still not considered a good investment, but at least I don't consider them as burning money. (But maybe that's only my watch guy's brain trying to make it appear sensible :D

I stand by that word "only". I've seen so many guys having multiple sub $1.000 watches, which also adds up. I've decided to go for the two watches I've been lusting after for multiple years instead of buying multiple cheaper watches. And I have decided to leave it at that with these two. Haven't purchased or lusted after another one since almost 5 years, which is when I bought my Explorer.

I couldn't see myself wearing those, but they sure are nice. Congratulations on the badge!

I feel like any one of those watches is worth more than my collection of watches!   :ahhh

They are absolutely beautiful and I am glad that you decided to share them with us!  While I don't wear nice watches (the fanciest I have are a Seiko, a Luminox, an Armitron and a Citizen Eco Drive) I certainly do appreciate them when I see them.
