Hey folks,
I'm curious if it would be possible to create a knife that is essentially two layers. I am envisioning an inline phillips driver across from a blade and a combo tool. I am not sure about tool thickness nor about what spacers would be required to allow for the blade to pass the phillips driver, or even if such a two-in-one "layer" tool is possible.
I'm thinking that a configuration of /Liner/Blade/Spacer/Spacer/Combo Tool/Liner/ Opposite of /Liner/Spacer/Inline Phillips/Spacer/Liner/ may work? I imagine that some sanding would be necessary, and unless I harvest a combo tool from a 111mm Hunter, that I would need to drill out the combo tool to fit the pins.
Please let me know your thoughts, and if you know of any relevant threads! I made an account today because I have been mulling this over in my head for a while and I'd like to know if this is a possibility.
Addendum: I have read up enough to know that I would need separate backsprings for the knife and combo tool, and that drilling out any tools would depend on the size of knife (84mm uses 2.2mm outer pins, 91mm uses 2.5mm outer, 93 and 111mm liner locks use 3mm pins)
