DAY 1

Nice start awl  :2tu:

As Amazon can't deliver my Companion due to a "technical issue"  :dunno: :bnghd: I only really have my G.O.A.T

As it's approaching midnight here in Ol' Blighty the only real pic' I can take is it lounging upon the bed  ::)

It's going to be a difficult few weeks with work and other things but I'll do my best to keep up  :salute:

Have a great Day 2 wherever you are

 :like:  :like:

Day 1

Starting off with the Companion. A lot of us use out smaller knives (Classics and lobsters) mostly for grooming, so I made a little barber setup. Comb, scale tools, file/ruler, and scissors. With the default phillips bit in the driver, that gives me both a mediumish phillips and flat head, and no blades.

Day 1
The starting set-up of my companion is what I would consider an edc urban.

I used the scissors to open a packet of oatmean for breakfast.

Day 2

Nice setups awl!

Testing out some different tools like the scalpel blade and small serrated blade (which I quite like).

Did the rules for this challenge allow carrying a non - modular 'companion' tool (e.g. a SAK)?

I used the small screwdriver t-shank to help fix one of my old watch builds. The seconds hand was slightly bent and at a specific time it would rub on the minutes hand and even stop for a bit. All fixed now!  :multi:

Ideally the only pocket tool we would carry would be one according to the challenge, in this case a modular tool. But of course no tool has everything, not even modular ones. If you have to use something else, let us know what it was and what the modular tool fell short.

After coming back from an Birthday Party's for my Dad yesterday, I did try to tighten up the Screw on the Plier based and the Companion Flex whit an RC Car Screwdriver as I sadly don’t have an 1/4 Inch Bit which is small enough, but it’s depends a bit on the amount of thighten, too tight and you can’t fold out the tools anymore ..

Did use today only the Comp on the Companion, but have booth in my Pocket EDC..

Today is an chilling Sunday, so nothing to do whit Pocket Tools ..

I think the Quality on the Roxon Tools is ok enough, but they are not on the same level as Leatherman or Victorinox ..
Your SAK is only fully yours, when it bites you, or you opend a Trink of your joice whit it
SAKs i have: Huntsman Light (Red Transparent), Workchamp (Black), Wenger EvoGrip S557 (Red), Swisschamp XLT (Red Transparent).. Swisschamp (Blue Transparent) Cybertool L (Blue Celidor (custom scales) , Huntsman (Black Celidor) , Victorinox EvoGrip S557 (Red, but sadly lost in my house somewhere) Victorinox Delemont S17 and S57 ..  , waiting for: Swiza D09 Blue

Day 2, using D2 blade. Shape and grind are excellent. I know some will say the thumb tab blocks cutting and sharpening, but overall I think it’s great.

Day 2

Still working on my loadout for the main Flex, but touched up the edge on the serrated sheepsfoot for today. Definitely want the OHO PE and some kind of serrated blade in there.

DAY 2

Once again some outstanding carries  :tu:

I'm getting jealous of everyone being able to use the Flex Companion  :pok: (I still can't seem to find one to buy within the UK  :dunno:)

So, it's technically 2am on Day 3 at the moment but I've only just got in from work some 4 hours late  ::)

Upon my return, I did manage to use the scissors on the G.O.A.T to remove a Valentine gift for Mrs Surge from its sealed staff purchase bag  :D

Hopefully I'll have some practical use for day 3 (or later today )

Cheers awl

I was just checking as I couldn't remember. I'm sure I can do the challenge with modular only! 👍

Day 3

I changed the loadout to be more suited for a single tool only carry. I like to keep a food safe blade on me (PE in this case) and a more utility focused one (SE). This awl is actually so sharp that it can cut open packages, cardboard and all kinds of stuff, so I'm not sure i need two long blades but this is how it is for now.

It seems Roxon made the sheath just the right size to carry an array of extra tools. I'm keeping the Flex in pocket with the clip for quick access and the sheath is mostly staying nearby in some way, if not on the belt.

im still on the Challenge, but its reminds me a bit that i dont use my EDC Tool Stuff that often, in my Pockets are now : Roxon Flex Companion and Roxon Flex Plier, booth whit the Same tools as on the Challenge Start,  the Companion is my Main Tool still ..

Might be as the Victorinox Bladeless Modell comes out hopefully this year, i would have the Bladeless SAK + the Flex Plier whit the Blade deatached and in an Extra Pocket

Just a reminded to everyone that to qualify for the badge, you have to post a picture of the modular tool every day for 30 days. After all, it is a challenge, so it has to be a little challenging. You do not have to be using it, a simple picture is enough.
And it would make it easier for everyone if we all number our posts for each day, like "Day 1" or "1/30, 2/30, etc", "I, II, III"

Day 3

I change my Companion setup for making lanyards. Mostly paracord, a little work with leather.
To be completely transparent, the Flex scissors don't do a great job with paracord.      In fairness, the Arc scissors may be even worse.   :td:   I end up using the Roxon KS2 scissors, which are fantastic, as are any SAK scissors.  :surrender:

Cheers all!

Day 3, I was not happy whit the Roxons because for SAK Task, the have some issues (Can Opener) so I’m now changed my load out a bit : I’m fine whit the Plier, so I did decide to keep the plier based Roxon Flex whit the Box and Rope Cutter, this ruler, comp and 1/4 Inch Bit Driver as well as this other tool, but did change the Companion to the Victorinox Delemont Evogrip S17, the Companion and a few tools are now in my backpack

Day 3

I see now why people complain about thuds and stuff while sharpening. Awlso, buying all these blades means I'm doing quite a bit of it. Carried the Companion today, but no use. Still working out the config and buying parts for the Flex.
