You might not recognize the name, but trust me, Eric has had such a major effect on the industry as a whole.
You may have heard of his work through his company On/Scene Tactical, but even if you hadn't, Eric's work with Kydex was legendary, although he would be very upset to be described that way. Many (including me) called him a Kydex Master, but he really hated that and felt that he'd never truly earned it- but I guarantee you, if it wasn't for his work, Kydex wouldn't be the go to material for sheaths it is today. Anyone who had seen his work would agree- in fact, there was a time when his name was almost synonymous with Kydex work.
Early in November he went in for multiple bypass surgery, which initially seemed to have gone well, but it turned out there were some complications. He was in and out of several hospitals and never recovered. I just got word from his family on Facebook that he unfortunately did not make it.
I've known Eric for at least 20 years, and some of our old SOSAK members may remember him posting as Normark back in the good old KF days. Shortly after starting SOSAKOnline and then MTO I helped him out by registering onscenetactical.com and hosting his personal website when he had problems with his old host.
Rest in peace old buddy- you will be missed but your legacy in our industry is undeniable and will live on as long as people need sharp things and a safe way to carry them.
