That'll work just fine Gordon!  I swap out keychains too.

Gary, my son has that exact keychain.  He got it at an aircraft mechanics expo a couple of years ago.  That's a neat little tool!

The Dime is definitely a solid little tool.  For its size, you know it's there!

Great kickoff everyone!

I carried a Dime for a while. It replaced a Clutch that I used for years and beat the smurf out of. I loved that thing. Never cared for the Dime and wound up handing it off to a friend's daughter who wanted a small multi for work. Thought about trying another, but after reading some posts decided to give Nextool a try instead. $20 is easy to swallow if it is junk, and I've never carried any of their stuff before. If I like it, maybe I'll give one of their full sizers a try next. Wife borrowed the Mini Sailor to open a bag last night and was very happy with the scissors. She might carry it this month, while I take the Lite, so we can do some comparison.

Day 1

Like many of you I won’t be carrying the Dime on a keychain, but I will be dropping it in my pocket for easy reach and use. I did ad a small lanyard. I don’t normally like lanyards on my knives or tools, so we will see how long it lasts.

Since I got my Maxpedition Platy, I have been slowly adding to it by gathering stuff as I need it. To lazy to take the whole contents out, but it has a small  rite in rain notebook, small first aid kit in a small ziplock, Olight O pen mini 2, Dime, and my Kershaw Federalist. It is still to hot to carry this set up, but Fall is slowly approaching so this would go in my jacket pocket.

It has its good points, but I don't know if I'd go that far yet buddy.  It gets great reviews, but it's so close to being great, but just short of the mark.  I've carried it off and on in the year I've had it.  I'd wait until after this challenge.  I'm going to put mine through its paces.

DAY 1

I might struggle with this challenge, I had a little Gerber that was perfect...but the little so and so disappeared on me????

This is my day to day edc pocket pliers....it hangs in the wallet from a loop of paracord attached to my trouser belt loop...so effectively it is a key chain pliers...?

Or the slideclip, that is clipped with a carabineer to my trouser belt loop....

Or the style in the jam surround....

I'll let the crowd decide which is suitable....now where on earth is that Gerber...?

Option 3 seems to be the closest to the original idea.  Option 1 looks like a great real world carry

Gents, I'll be back.  We had to put down one of our dogs, Ursula, today.  She's had health issues most of her life.  She's really been having issues lately.  We discovered that she had an aggressive form of cancer with a tumor on her liver.  She was bleeding massively internally.  This isn't the first time we've had to make the call, but it was so difficult.  I'll be back tomorrow.

What I say doesn't mean anything, but I agree with Barry on Option 3.  Best in keeping with the intent of the challenge, I think.  You might want to think about what equipment you intend to use with regards to a badge option.  For example, if I keep using the little Swiss+Tech, I could always apply for the Bladeless multitool badge, or whatever they call it.  Depends on how much interest you have in a badge.  Look through the awards list and see if an option applies to something you could carry.  Is there a Style badge?  I forget.  Best wishes.  G

Thinking of you, Barry.

Day 1

I am thankful to live within driving distance of 3 (to my knowledge, could be more!) different drive in theatres. Here's the Mini Flagship on the Mahoning Drive In's VHS Throne. I do plan to keep it mostly on my keychain, but I'll pop it off for pics and use sometimes.

Day 1:

Renegade mini fishing tool. Best I can tell, made by Carolina Knife and Tool (a subsidiary of Gerber who mostly made cheap imports for places like Walmart).

I traded some cheap Kobalt mini I bought last year for it. Quality is really good, though the scissors spring broke (surprised it happened given it's 20 years old--shoulda broke long before now). Fine pliers too.

It has semi-replaced my Squirt P4 as the light-duty pocket tool that won't weigh me down. Good, but nowhere near as good as the Squirt. Kind of wish LM would  bring it back--as most of the competition is either the wrong size or completely lacking in features and/or quality.

Sorry to hear about that Barry.  It's always tough when our pets need to go.

Day 1

Used the keychain pliers to fix this cup holder on my nephew's car seat.

There's one thing already that I know will bother me.  This button on the side pops out the pliers so they can be used.  That button somehow gets pushed in my pocket causing the pliers to open up.  That's a bit annoying.  It's happened twice today.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

Day 2

We’re in for a wet and stormy weekend so thought I’d get in some supplies and go back to rebuilding my music studio

I live in an area that’s probably 75% Asian people, mainly Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese which makes for lots of fantastic food  as I’m a huge fan

Being out in the north west suburbs away from Sydney city, it’s all very reasonably priced so went a bit mad on the dim sims :D

Day 1

I hope all don’t mind me joining

I didn’t even know what Challenge was going on this month until now.  I carried the LM PS Style today due to going into a “no weapon (including MTs with blades) zone”.   I took a picture earlier planning on posting in another thread.  Figured it was the Multitool Gods telling me I should participate.  So hear I am.

Technically it is day two.  I am going through one of my 'can't sleep' trials.  Internet has been in and out lately.  I will wait and do my day 2 boring post later today.
Sherry is in the house.  Always a fun time.  Somebody put on some records.... well, maybe not.  Might wake up the neighbors.  Welcome anyway.  I read up on all the latest entries.  Friends Cody, Echo, Bob, and Aztec had some great pix.  Sounds like friend Aztec has a little issue with an annoying pocket tool deployment.  I don't know how to fix that.  I would probably wrap a stout rubber band around the thing a couple of times.
It usually cools down at night here.  Lots of chatterty, cricketty, rhythmic night creature noises.  Continuous chorus of little frogs or something.  Likely I will settle down and go back to bed.  I threshed and wrestled the bed covers until I had to get up a while and try to do a reset.  Nothing new.
Best wishes.  Gary

DAY 2:  Like others, I'm trying to figure out how to carry this thing.  My keychain has two largish fobs and a truck key on one side, and a Rambler plus a couple of thin tools on the other.  So for its first job, I made the PS4 cut a piece of paracord to help me find it in my pocket.

Day 2

I'm sure all of you have seen the tangled mass of words and misinformation that constitutes the AI descriptions for multis out there.  Something like a bushcraft knife:  Kitchen knife knive fruit knife garden knife outdoor hunting fishing carving knive.  Hand wash only.
Here were the dimensions listed for my bitsy little Swiss+Tech from the same site that advertised them for $27.99.  Dimensions 6 x 5 x 1 inches.  Here is a photo of the Swiss+Tech next to a well-worn Spartan.  Five inches wide, and an inch thick?  I don't think so.
The second site selling these toys had almost the same dimensions listed.  Their AI copied some other AI.  Then I saw this vendor had a .ca domain.  I thought California.  Can't be it.  What is .ca?  Of course it is Canada.  How much is $4.98 Canadian?  Let me do some math.  Convert that to US dollars...... carry the two..... figure in the tariff, got to do that..... minus pi times the radium?  Well, it's more than $2, but not much.  At least they didn't say to hand wash only and ready to spring into action to solve all your problems.
Best wishes.  G

Finding accurate information on items can be difficult sometimes.  Couple that with counterfeits and I am leery to by items from unknown sellers online.

Day 2

Running a little later today in order to get a post in. The Dime and ZT0562 were accompanying me on chores today. Hit the farmers market for dinner fixings and the the hardware store for crushed rock and pavers. Then home to unload and do some gardening. The Dime is so small and light weight that I forgot it was in my pocket. I will need to clean the sweat off and give it a good oiling.

Hope you awl are having a wonderful weekend.

Barry, I hope you are doing as ok.
