Sodbuster Sunday
on: February 09, 2025, 03:07:34 PM
I like soddies, but the blade shape is not of much use to me at work. So, my typical day for carrying a soddie is on Sunday. If you have a Sodbuster (also known as Hippekniep, Mineur, Pastor, etc...) feel free to join me on Sundays to celebrate this traditional knife pattern

Love a Sodbuster!
I have a couple of Case knives, including the one you've pictured. One of my all time faves is a carbon steel one.
It's too late for me to get a decent picture today but I'll definitely be here next Sunday!  :hatsoff:

Not necessarily a top pattern for me.  But if I am going to carry one, I’ll definitely take a full-size over a junior…

The smaller knife feels like the right size for me. But I need to get at least one full-size at some point.

Happy Sodbuster Sunday!

Queen's Country Cousin is probably my favorite soddie to use. It fits my hand well and the D2 steel holds an edge.

Queen didn't start using D2 until 2002. This one is from the 1980's and has "440C Stainless" etched on the blade

This is the only Sodbuster type that I have.

I love that knife. It was the knife that ignited my love for sodbusters. I remember the first time I saw it. I searched the internet to learn about it. When I found out I couldn't just order it from a store, I let the desire to own one fade away. But when I saw it a second time, I knew more and actually found a used one for sell on Northern Knives. Now I own 4 Bull Noses  :ahhh

All because of you and your Bull Nose, Steve  :D

Remembered this Sunday.

Here are my two.

The yellow carbon steel is one of my favourite pocket knives.

Good Sodbuster Sunday everybody!

As I wrote last Sunday, I fell in love with this pattern after see Steve's Bull Nose. In particular, I am a big fan of GEC's Bull Nose and now own 4 of them. Here is the one I am carrying today:

This is the only soddie I have from Bear & Son:

I did have lockback soddie that they call a Farmhand, but I didn't care for it much and gave it away in Sos' GAW box.
