Magnifying Glass Challenge - June 2025

In the Yeoman Thread SOS24, Folder Beholder, and I were discussing a challenge.  SOS24 suggested a Mag Glass Challenge.  The question is anyone interested, and what month will work best for everyone?

Thank you!  I'm in challenges through May, so anytime after that is good for me.  I think this is a great idea.  There's a good lineup of SAKs with mag glasses.

I'll give it a look. Any month after April's MacGyver Challenge should work for me.

Do we have to use the mag glass everyday or just a SAK with a mag glass?

I voted July because I’m likely going to stop by SMKW the last week of June as we travel south for vacation.  Figured that would be a good opportunity to pick up a mag glass model. I can always fall back on amazon. Or maybe post a WTB here for an explorer.

Edit to add: I just now saw that the explorer is $44.99 at Amazon for a limited time. It’s usually in the $60-65 range. Tempting.  Though an older one would have the grey mag glass and thicker blade stock. Decisions, decisions.

It would be great to have you Vicman!  I just looked and the Dean51 Memorial Challenge is in August.  I'm going to make a decision and go with June.  I'd love to have everyone here on board!

I’ll probably sit this one out.  I feel like I participated in an Explorer challenge not too long ago, and this would probably just be a repeat of that for me.

The only other SAK I own with the mag glass is the SC, which I find too heavy & bulky to want to carry.

Plus, it is looking like this might go in June, and I’m planning to host the Giants of June/Big Blades challenge if there is any interest.

I’ll cheer y’all on though.
