Thanks. :hatsoff: That second type are really nice. :tu: I have to see if I can find those here.

I can vouch for the BN2291N style.  I started with two early last summer. A middle weight canvas.  The 5th pocket is ample.

These are now  my go to trouser, my kids noticed and after Christmas gifts were exchanged I now have every color😉

They also travel well!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

I basically have two pairs of jeans, which I rotate.  One of the pairs are almost worn out now, and I need to get myself another pair soon. If I can find a pair of these in my size, it will be those. :hatsoff:

Paracord lanyards usually tied to right around 3 1/2 inches long with a small carabiner will perfectly suspend a SAK vertically, mid-pocket, when attached to the belt loop above the pocket so you won't even feel it.  I do this because I hate the feel of weight pressing against my leg from a heavy knife sitting horizontally in the bottom of my pocket.

Your great tip on how to comfortably pocket carry larger SAK's, had me thinking that perhaps they could be something for me as well.

So I have been keeping my eyes open for a SAK of this kind. To see if I could find something vintage and reasonably priced and test it out.

Lo and behold, I found this big beauty. A Wenger Champ, I believe? It had the little chain already, so I only added a small carabiner.

My first impression is that it carries really well in the front pocket of my jeans. Just as you said it would. :tu:

So thanks again for sharing, Alan. :hatsoff:

Very nice find DANE!

Keep an eye on the split ring connecting chain to SAK, appears it  has a gap!  Or. Is it the photo?

So after browsing server al hundred old pages worth of posts, I realised that I am not a collector as such, just for users, and decided to get some red Micarta scales and a fancy fob - normally I never would attach anything else than a P7, but since the Champ is already “too much” I thought what the hay

Got both things today, fob was already made (might shorten the loop) and the scales are very nice and very substantial - atm I’m cleaning the champ from 30-odd years of gunk
I heated up the old scales with 50C water before removal and they did not take damage, so I’ll save them for later if I ever retire it as a shelve piece
My name would translate into Bear, hence the brass bear :P
Could someone maybe read something out of the old scales backside markings?

I can make out the numbers 4, 6, 3, and 1. Hope to see some photos of it with the new scales!

After the nice bath and some new oil it’s ready to go, new looks and awl! I quite like how it turned out - though I might find T&Ts in black, and paint the cross outline black

Had to clubber the scales on with a rubber mallet and I don’t think they’re going anywhere
Toothpick slot is a bit deeper that the head, but I don’t feel like grinding it down

Anyway, judge for yourselves :D

Looks sharp in the new outfit  :tu: Wishing you many happy years of use , the Adventurer was my (NZ) Army issued knife too , although back then it was called the Centurion and came in the black livery.
Welcome to the forum

Thanks!

Yeah the adventurer was something special - didn’t even know it was a VIC at the time - it did inspire me to get a tinker as edc as the toolset is the same

Now that I’m reading thru all the old pages here, I’ve come to realise some things
- I need a OHO sentinel clip
- I need a classic aloe

Jeez

It looks fantastic! :like:  Where did you source the scales? I think my MiniChamp may be due for some Micarta "clothes."

It happens to be my first investment on Etsy, searched for Red Micartha and found a seller in the UK

So, during renovations at home this week, my Danish Army Knife (adventurer) went AWOL, everything has been turned upside down to no luck sadly -

I took the opportunity to buy a Sentinel Clip instead, as I figured the locking blade was a must have, and since it’s only used at home I usually have dedicated tools beside me

It’s just that ….
It’s not my old Army knife…
I miss the embossed “HMAK”, I miss the extra layer that actually gave the knife some girth, and I miss the slide lock …
And I’m not sure I’m that big a fan of the OHO thing

My dad being an old Master Sargeant, I might bug him for one of his army knives and returnere sentinel
