christmas Ripstop Tool

I know this is not the kind of tool that many  of you guys like but I decided to give it a shot to the pics anyway.
If you read the review on the Suspension or the Resolve you will know it all about the Ripstop I think, not much to add. They just changed the look of the handles in this one

Just some of my impressions
I like that hidden spring mechanism to keep the pliers open in this one, it may be welcome in some ocassions...
-This is the first Gerber in this style that I have in my hands and I think the finish quality overall is actually good.
-I like also the blades in the Gerbers, different shape than others, you can use them as a x-acto knife :D  they are too short though
-Their scissors! :tu: little but they do their work fine.
-Can opener works better in this one ::)
For me a huge CON is the handles that are too far apart, so the grip is very uncomfortable, this alone is a reason for me not to consider more seriously this MT or alikes

By the way Gerber guys, the tin box is nice but would be nicer with a stamped logo or something. It´s too flat, literally.
So that´s it...I hope you didn´t get bored :D

Nice summary tanker! I just picked up one of these myself yesterday.

Good point about the handles being too far apart. That really is a big design flaw. And what is the point of that blade with the saw teeth on it? Do they really expect us to saw something with that stubby thing?! ::)
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Nope, not my first. I've got a few of the different variations. Basically they are all just Suspensions with different handles. My impressions are rather luke warm:

Good:
decent plier jaws
spring loaded pliers
solid blade locks
one-hand blades

Not good:
handles are too fat
blades are too short
entire tool is too big and heavy

In a nutshell, I cannot imagine myself ever carrying a Suspension (or a Ripstop),  because plenty of other multitools are smaller and lighter and more capable. :-\

Yep sir! and it´s a shame really the tool is not bad quality, only if they improve design...
