I've had a chance to take a better look at the Maxpedition Jumbo Versipak that I won as part of last month's donation draw. Thanks again to Def and Tim! :hatsoff:

I chose the black one. It is a very well-made piece of gear. The shoulder strap is nicely padded, which I appreciate. Note the MTo patch.

The main pocket looks like it can hold a decent amount. I appreciate the sort of expandable top with a drawstring.

Since many of the items I carry are on the small side, a multitude of small pockets is invaluable.

And in the final photo for this post, we see two hooks.

My initial impressions are very favorable. The Jumbo Versipak is quality-made and thoughtfully designed. It is very likely to replace my old sling bag. This thread will be updated with photos as the Versipak sees some actual use.

Nice pix.  I like the idea of a single strap instead of double straps with the bag hanging down your back.  You need the two straps if you are carrying loads, but this is much nicer for smaller, everyday sort of carry.  Our friend Loop Cutter had a tan Carhartt model that I thought was rather convenient as well.  The black color looks good too.  I carry a belt pack when I am outside almost every day.  Wore it while mowing today.  Best wishes.  G

The Versipack are hard to beat.  I had two Thermite Versipacks over the years and I really liked them.

Mine has done well for itself thus far. It is possible that I'll purchase a larger Maxpedition bag in the future.
