Day 5

Giving this buddy a thorough clean up and a little lub with mineral oil.

This leaf shave shaver is a multi blade shaver with spring pivot. It uses ordinary safety DE blades split into halves. Zero waste. No crazy blade price. The initial price may be off putting. But a pack of ordinary DE blade just last forever. With 5 years of service now, the saving of blades already justified the cost.  Only minor complain is the matte top coat turns yellow and start falling off. But that is a common problem with matte coat over metal.

The Climber has been my most carried SAK,I bought the first 1 in maybe 95 or 96.
I changed the pin, modded the tweezers to a point, added the eyeglass driver and a small magnet.

Day 5

Bar-B-Q is great, but I decided to go with a vegetable instead.  Macaroni.  I used an Opi to open the makins.  It was so pointy and sharp that it opened more holes in the pack than I wanted.
Did I say that I am using the Anniversary challenge as a way to get an Opinel badge?  Follow the rules for the Anniversary and the Opinel challenges and apply for either one.  It has been done before.
Everyone be sure to number your daily posts.  It is easy to forget.  Best wishes.  G

That's an interesting set up, My daily driver is a DE. I've looked at SE a few times (a smaller head would be more convenient) but not bothered. Never seen a multi blade safety razor. How do you split the blades, and how do you feel like it shaves compared to a traditional DE?

You just need to fold the blade and it will snap into halves. I have a DE as well. The leaf shave is more like a normal multiblade but without the ridiculous price tag for the spare blades. And the head is slightly larger, so the area right under the nose can only use upward stroke against the grain. DE gives more control on the angle, the leaf has less as it has the spring pivot head.

I do so like it when a cheap and cheerful purchase lives up to its intended use...  A few years ago I spent $40.00 on an Ozark Trail MultiForce and modified it like I saw somewhere, here.  No regrets on the mod, but I could have waited until this Mossy Oak tool came out for less than ten bucks.

Day 5:

MP400, 110LT Slim, and Nitecore Tube (with keychain from the Adventurer 5M's included files).

Decided I'd quit messing around and actually start printing the parts to my Flashforge 5M enclosure kit. I bought black because of it--though honestly, I feel I should've gotten a brighter color.

The factory Flashforge file has problems with adhesion (it's  the hinges and door handle combined), and I tried someone else's STL off Printables. That one would not hinge at all.

I printed  off the truck yesterday evening, and the rollback body today. It rolls smoothly (took some time to break in, however), and the cab opens. It was print in one-piece. The rollback/car carrier body was an add-on made by the same designer.

Day 6

The Juice CS4 has a tool set similar to a SAK Huntsman and is a similar size. They’re two of my favourite MT‘s

Common to both: main blade, corkscrew, awl, scissors, saw, can opener, bottle opener, flat head screwdrivers and philips

Huntsman has the small blade and parcel hook and Juice obviously has pliers

I really think LM have dropped the ball not continuing with the Juice line or something similar. The non locking tools make it great for travel to destinations like the UK where they’re banned, it’s compact and covers most tools I’m likely to need.

The pliers have been particularly useful for fixing broken suitcase zippers

I pair the Juice with a Compact and a Rambler for EDC pocket carry, while the Juice lives in my bag. Not let me down yet

Day 5

Notebook and fountain pen with my Buck canoe.  I need a notebook and pen so I can write things down so I don't forget.  Problem is, sometimes I forget to write them down.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.
