Victorinox Student 75mm
on: June 15, 2025, 01:16:12 PM
Picked up this 75mm Student thats in great condition, didn't even know there was a 75mm line.  Checked the Sakwiki and there were 3 different models, the Student being one of them.  Looked at the tang stamps on Sakwiki and best I can tell, is these were made from 1957-1973.  More information on these would be awesome.  Enjoy the pics.

No info, but that's probably the nicest example I've ever seen from the line. Great find!

Nice find, congratulations.   :tu:
As far as I know, this shape/size has been appearing at Victorinox since the 1920s.

Back then, the knives had model numbers instead of names:
No. 50 Small and large blade
No. 52 Small and large blade, long nail file
No. 53 Small and large blade corkscrew
No. 54 Small and large blade, scissors
No. 55 Small and large blade, scissors, wide long nail file

There were various scale materials: Cellidor/celluloid, imitation bone, imitation tortoiseshell, smooth and ribbed aluminum, guilloched steel (there are many different patterns), smooth oxidized steel, mother-of-pearl and horn. There were versions with a nail file instead of the small blade, versions with a bail, and versions with toothpick and tweezers.

I love this elegant shape and grab any 75mm model I can find for a reasonable price.

Very nice examples.  I haven't found a 75mm in the wild yet.

 :like:

I've always liked those 75mm's. I had a alox secretary m,anyyeartsa go, and it got used for a heck of a lot of cutting jobs. Some months ago I rescued a Wenger patriot from a junk pile at a local gun show that was in need of some rehab and loving care. Flat little two blade about the thickness of a stick of gum. VERY handy little slicker that fits in a shirt pocket. So light you can forget its there.
Don't get too serious, just enough will do.
