Life would be so easy with just ONE!

Ahh, but so much less interesting.

Day 28
I tightened 2 drawer handles in the kitchen. The 2D phillips really does a great job. I've carried a SAK for almost 5 decades and only learned about that feature in the last 4 or 5 years.

Day 28

I was having difficulty posting for a spell (something about invalid image geometry). But I finally got it to work. Anyway, for a no-use day, the Spartan is seen with what is supposed to be me in Lego form. Like me, he seems a little perturbed that winter in knocking on the door.

And unless something goes horribly wrong, there will be Spartan use for me tomorrow.

Winter is hard to take.  However, it looks like mini-Dan has a knife and a sufficiently large coffee cup to help cope with things.  Looks a little angry for some reason.  Might have to work on that.  Nobody's poifect.  Best wishes.  Gary

It'll be rectified in time.

Day 28 bonus

Technical difficulties prevented me from including the below photo in the regular Day 28 post, so here it is as a bonus. The Spartan is again seen with the minifigure from yesterday. This time her Ferrari F-40 is in the photo. I could go on about the F-40, but I'll spare y'awl of that for now.

Ah, the F-40...
brings back memories of boys who couldn't drive but knew everythin about cars discussing for hours on end about the pros and cons fo the F-40 vs Porsche 959... That we learned playing Test Drive II on our "super" 286 PCs.

Day31:

Back to basics: After years of sheaths, slips, altoids tins, suspension clips and SwissQlips, the good old watch pocket came back to front stage, holding the Spartan and the out-of-home flashlight, Boruit V20-1 in a way that I don't even feel they're there:

Day 29: What a quick month!!

I have read that experiencing new things, places, and events is what marks the passage of time.  When we are young, everything is new so time seems to move slowly.  The older we get, the more habituated we are, with fewer new things.  Wake, work, dinner, sleep - for 40 years or more.  Thus time seems to move faster.

Its a theory, but it agrees with reality - which is the definition of Truth.

Maybe one way of slowing the passage of time is to post daily in sweet, sweet Challenge threads.

How big is that Boruit? The watch pocket on my Carhartts can swallow up a Spartan.

Adult proof package!
I hate those sort of things. :twak:

What a quick month!!
Yes indeed!

Sounds good to me!

Toothpick was a necessity.
I think the last time I used the SAK toothpick was when a Lego tile got stuck in a Lego brick. I use the tweezers more frequently.

Day 29

I was hoping you'd see the Spartan opening up furniture boxes, but 'twas not to be. Instead, I cut a sheet of bubble wrap in half.

Day 29
This is the Spartan I'll be finishing out the challenge with.

The next couple of days are going to be hectic so I'd like to say a couple things while I can. First, this challenge has been a lot of fun. I feel like I've gotten to know some people a little better, and I have enjoyed the humor, knowledge, and the weekend mini-challenges. SAK owners really are the nicest people.

Second, I have come to love the Spartan. I have only needed a tool on another SAK 2 or 3 times this month (nail file and nail clippers). With a simple set of tools and a little ingenuity you can accomplish a lot. I won't lie and say I'm not going back to my beloved Pioneer, but I know I will switch it out for a Spartan now and then.

Thank you for making this such a fun challenge.

Day 29

Long day, it feels like!

Met friends for dinner about a hour up the road, enjoyed good company, pizza and salad.

Examined a new pouch that arrived yesterday, discovering it has Velcro.  And just right size to display a MTo patch 🥰

Well, its too big to be a keychain light and too small to go on its own pouch, but it does everything I need it to do. It's as long as the spartan, and a mite thicker. Has a two-way clip that is about to be lost in a drawer, by the way.

Thank you for making this such a fun challenge.

Now that we're on the final official day of the challenge, it's time to give my thoughts on the Spartan. Being Victorinox, you know it's a solid tool. As long as the loadout works for you and there's nothing subjective that rankles you (such as scale color or material), it's a winner. I particularly recommend it for minimalists who prefer the corkscrew and those who want a near-direct modern-day descendent of the original Officer's Knife.

As psyjohn said, this was a fun challenge. Thanks to awl who participated, and a special thank you to Barry Rowland for hosting! :hatsoff:
