Auction - Modified Leatherman Charge Ti
on: February 19, 2009, 11:13:32 PM

This fine modded Charge was built by me from new parts, and as you can see in the pictures i made a few changes in the setup  :D

The brandnew & never used tool does not have a sheath, but instead comes with a removable lanyard & a removable pocketclip which can be used at the same time.

There are only 5 of these modified Charge Ti models in existence, and 1 (maybe 2) of them is going to be auctioned off.
You can send me your bid in a PM, and on the 1th of March i will announce the winner.
After payment with PayPal i will ship the tool.

Kwakster

As the rather lousy edgeholding on the serrated 420 steel blades always annoyed me, i sent some spare 154CM PE blades through an aquaintance of mine to a German knifemaker called Juergen Schanz, and he serrated them for me by hand, not with some serrating machine as i previously thought.
I specifically asked him to try to use the Spyderco pattern as much as possible, as over the years i have found this to be very effective.
As you can see in the pictures he did a marvelous job, and the ones already in use not only perform perfectly, they keep their edge notably longer than the standard serrated blades.

I have found that the 420HC serrated blades are more than adequate.. I bet the 154CM serrated blades are extraordinary!

This is PORN! pure and simple multitool porn.

I have been a little reluctant in speaking about the reason why i suddenly started auctioning some tools, but a certain situation came up in which i felt i had too.

It boils down to this; a friend of mine is a former soldier who served in Iraq and Afghanistan for several tours.
Now he is a civilian with a young wife who is pregnant of their first born.
The problem is that he has lost his civil job due to the recession, and because of this there is a good chance they will loose their home too.
Yes i know, that sounds like another sob story, but one that matters to me.

My friend is a very proud man who already said he does not want to be helped in any way, but as i already told Defender, his friends are quite deaf and all have some form of Alzheimers disease so they don't seem to remember what he told them.
There are more goodies to be auctioned after this one, so if you spot something you like, don't hesitate to bid on them.

By the way, the current highest bid for this modded Charge is 100 dollars, and you can pay with Paypal.

I am quite a bit short this month too.. I've bought 5 Charge's this month! I also have a Fallkniven F1 on the way, and a Vic Workchamp.. I just can't afford it right now. Believe me, I want this tool bad; but it's not possible..
