It might work but it would definitely be very close tolerances.  The gutting blade is larger than I realized, about the same length as the 111 cap lifter.  I prefer a corkscrew too, and have a Forester with both the awl and corkscrew.  I currently don't have any backside Philips head 111s.  Let me know, and I can get any pics you might want.

Day 17:

Another pic in the impromptu driveway stream. Two of the same kind of pic in a row. I’m very creative.

Here's the soldier beside this normal and completely practical SAK.
:like: Getting more 111s is my big SAK goal!

I did have the green plastic slip. Might have tossed it.
Hopefully it'll turn up. I seem to remember you said the saw cover is long gone?

The combo tool worked... barely.
I've never had good luck using slotted screwdrivers on Phillips heads...

Catching some rays.
Soak up that Vitamin D! :tu: The snow is slowly melting away up here.

Seems like a bit of a slow day all around. Cameo pic w/ my GAK.

Day 17

I posted a photo of the USCK with a pin in the Combo Edge Challenge. Here's a photo of with a different pin.

Never had a saw cover.  Just as well.  I probably would have taken it off anyway.  Best wishes.  G

Day 18

Still continuing on my quest of breaking everything I own.  I spent all summer doing this.  I took my phone out on the porch and reached for the Go Button on the side.  Then I stood there stupified.  Couldn't turn the phone on.  The Power/Lock button had decamped for parts unknown leaving a divot where it used to be.
I started looking around.  Checked my pocket.  Then I found it on the porch.  Twice.  First time was some sort of small Power/Lock shaped insect, I think.  Exactly the same shape.  Second time, bingo.  I made sure to hold on to the teeny plastic part and made sure I held the phone over a box as I tried to press the thing back in.  Didn't seem to be directional.  Pick one of two choices.  I put it back in but it was loosie goosie.  Pried it back out with a fingernail.  Glue.  Put the very tiniest dibble of SuperGlue on the part and pressed it in.  Still loose.  Tried a bigger tiny dibble.  That worked.  Button seemed stiffer than before.  Decided to put some clear tape over the button in case it decided to depart again.  Really stiff now.  Got a smear of stupor glue on the screen.
It is functional at present.  Anything but the nice tactile crunch when I do get the button pushed.  Rats.  GAK was used to open the plastic bubble on the glue.  Best wishes.  G

Opened a package that just arrived. What is it? Why, a new (to me) candidate for this year's Giants of June, of course!

I awlready had a 6265, 1965-'69 version. This is a 6165, 1940-'64 version.

You should have seen me when I was trying to glue that little black crawly bug into my phone.  That would have got me a Homer Simpson badge.  I dreamed I was at a yard sale in the woods.  A bunch of church ladies were selling WECSOG's excess stuff.  I bought a battery-operated radio off them for $2.  It had a bent antenna, but the batteries were good and it played okay.
Best wishes.  G

Barry, thanks for the photos. Honestly, I'm not sure whether it'd fit... Can you take one more photo? Can you set them up like my second photo, please? Or maybe like that but with the tools closed.

I just realised that I'd forgotten to post a photo in the thread yesterday! Here's one for days 17 & 18 and I will post another later today. I was also reminded that I should be tagging my posts with which day of the challenge it is so I'm going to go back and edit all my posts to include that information.

I guess I'll have to hop on the pen train next time I need a "filler" day.

But for today, have the ever popular tightening loose cabinet knob pic. What do people without multitools do with all their drawers, cabinets, etc.? Just have them fall off all the time? Go through the house when they change the smoke detector batteries? Truly, their lives are a mystery.

Grab a dedicated tool or call a contractor, I'd guess. Their loss.

This is sort of a hint of what Sub-Mission 2 will be. As a reminder, it will run on Day 30.

Now this sounds like a fun time! Where'd you find that super glue? I like 'stupor glue', I may have to borrow that haha. Two soldiers from neighbouring countries here. My German is pretty much restricted to 19th- and 20th-century linguistics books, so I may just not have the exposure necessary to understand it better but I absolutely don't understand a single word of Swiss German... Their French and their Italian is completely intelligible to me, but not their German... Bizarrely enough, I actually found the GAK on the River about 18 months ago, BNIB...

Edited to add: day 18

I was starting to get worried about my mysterious neighbor.  Ms. Phoenix.  Lived in the same house for more than a decade.  Never seen hide, hair, or freckle of her yet.  Just the same little blue Toyota parked in the same spot.
All BS aside, I was starting to think that she might be dead in that little cottage.  Not zombie dead or nosferatu dead, but really dead dead.  Car is never gone.  Always parked in the same identical spot.  Nothing around the house has ever changed in any way.  No leaves swept.  Porch piled with stuff.
Then today I went out to pay Duke Energy before they decided that IMR wouldn't get any more electrons.  Guess what?  The little blue car was parked in another spot.  Just like she had backed up out of her usual spot and turned it around.  First time I have seen the front of that car.  Toyota oval T on the hood.
It felt good knowing that the rats probably weren't gnawing on Ms. Phoenix body parts.  Strange.
Best wishes.  G

You know what my worst fears are, Nate?  I am afraid that I will finally learn that Ms. Phoenix is a 30 year old lonely, beautiful sandy haired woman with just a dusting of freckles over her cute little nose.  Crying herself to sleep at night because she is waiting for her multi-tool equipped dreamboat to appear.  Then she can abandon her little cottage on the curve and go to live on her aged father's gigantic estate with her new beau.
It is really freaky deaky to live next door to someone for so long and never see them outside.  No mailbox.  Not one flower planted.  There was so much stuff getting blown down from the little knob that she lives on that the state put up a green drift fence.  That blind curve could easily have caused someone to plunge into the river trying to avoid a trash can or lawn chair in the road.  Never heard a lawn mower running there.  Never seen anyone shovel snow or rake leaves.  Aside from a couple of cars showing up there (which I mentioned a while back) there is absolutely nothing else other than the blue car.  That was the incident where apparently identical white and red cars were spotted, and the blue car vanished for a few days.  I have never seen the little blue car anywhere else, nor have I ever seen anything delivered to the cottage.  I don't know if there are lights on at night because I just don't go out anymore.  If anybody buys food or burns trash or something, I haven't seen it.  Weird.
Best wishes.  G
