I posted asking alllll the way back in 2012 and never went anywhere, well, now I really want one and they no longer sell them, so I’ve decided to make my own, but rather then making the same thing I’m going a little diff, here’s a pic of what I like, (Runnur & Paqlite) rather then a backpack something that I can spread everything out and even the weight, but going a little diff, rather then having the pockets/pouches built in, make them with the MOLLE system, then I could get diff pouches and whatnot to customize the setup, I was looking around and found what should be enough webbing to put on both the front and back, but then what to use for fabric, I thought just a pair of scrap jeans, but notta, then it hit me, what about a used jacket, naaa, and while I was looking in a tote I found this, a brand new hunting vest, never used, still in a package, huh, ok, time to cut it up! So I went at it and the scissors I had didn’t even cut, so I found my medical shears and sure enough, they cut, of course I couldn’t find my special fabric cutters that you just roll, that is until I was done and they just showed up, so for giggles I tried them on the remainder of the vest and they worked great, like why couldn’t I have just found them earlier, oh well, anyway here’s a few pics, I just started cutting a 4in wide strip to start the project, next I’ll have to make everything to length and add the molle, then make everything to fit right, but I needed a break!

So here’s a few pics to show you the idea that I’m working, it’s going to be a rough week so when this gets finished idk? :dunno: Let me know what you think, I even pushed the idea of doing a backpack the same way, just a molle panel with diff pouches, again that was like back in the day,,

That's a great idea man.  I have been looking for a very compact cross body bag for a while, but none of the ones I see really appeal to me.

I'd be very interested to see where you go with this idea.   :tu:

This would work out pretty well when you need something smaller than a backpack but you're not as tough as The Rock to wear a fanny pack.  I'm interested in seeing this finished.

Wow, someone commented,, I did find these other setups but there too big, except that one on the top left and center, but they wanted like $80 something, and well I can’t afford it, here’s another which is pretty much what I’m making but they don’t manufacture them anymore, yet it looks like there’s a zipper on the side, so not only do you get all the molle, but also a little well large hidden storage, now I do have a zipper left over from the vest so, I might just do that, idk, it’s just been a rough week, so when I get to finishing it idk, but I’ll keep you updated on any progress,,

I like the idea of it and it's a great use for the old vest.  Looking forward to your progress reports.

Try looking for money belts or traveler belts/bags.  These appeal to a lot of people who want to keep valuables close to their bodies and (partially) protected from pickpockets when traveling.

I don't know if that helps much, but it may get you a little closer to the concept you are after.  Also some sling bags intended for tech might work for you- they may be a bit bigger but some can be worn on the front and close to the body as well.

As I said, I have been looking for something similar and these are the rabbit holes I have gone down when researching them.  I'd be interested in hearing your results!

Rough morning, the Mrs ended up having a seizure on the way back from going to the bathroom, she fell and  hit the floor, she had one for about 5min, then after she came out of it, it took her another 5min before she even knew who she was, yet after it took her about 30min before she will even remember anything, then after everything I showed her what happened and she even told me that I even had a seizure a few min ago, not that I’d remember, it’s just a crazy day!

That certainly qualifies as a crazy day, jR.
As usual, a random post here gets my going down the rabbit hole.  I can't sew, and the Boss Lady is down for another couple of months after her back surgery,  so I did the Google thing.

Found several that I couldn't afford, too, but I did find one on the AliExpress.  Don't know how it would work out but I've got a bunch of different pouches that would definitely fit on it

I just found this on AliExpress:

Sorry about the boss lady, my Mrs wouldn’t have the slightest clue what to do, lol,  Seen that one, I actually posted a pic of it on #4, yeah nice, but a little wide and it’s only a panel on the front, the rest of it is just straps, so all the weight of whatever you carry say (10/0lbs) will be hanging in the front rather then splitting the weight in both the front and the back, so (5/5lbs) the only bad thing with that is come time to take a ride in the car, your going to have to take it off cause your not going to want to put whatever against the back/seat, unlike the one you posted where everything’s up front and you could just sit back, oh well..

I got ya, JR
Missed the pic that you posted with it.  I had thought of a remedy to the front only setup by getting two and connecting them near the shoulder and waist as one review said something about it being short.

That way of thinking is the reason that I have so many bags and pouches.

The Boss Lady got the staples and sutures out today.
Her doctor couldn't even answer how many staples were in around hr spine.  I'm assuming that "a lot" means something in doctor talk.
My daughter has them now and will be able to get the final count after she finds a way to untangle the lot.

I was watching iron man, well, still am, but it looks like Tony stark had somewhat of the same idea with a way to carry, one thing I must say about that bag is the padding on that strap looks comfy, look at how much padding it has,, oh and here’s another one that had me thinking since it was so small, def needs some padding but still not bad,,
JR

PC, I hope the Boss Lady is good, a lot in doc terms can be either way, it just depends on the doc, it could be only 4 or as much as 14? Heck I had surgery once on the head and everything went fine, one of the worst parts was when they stitched one part, I felt the vibration from the string on the part that wasn’t numbed, talk about freaky, but the worst part was the next day, I was home and woke up to blood on the pillow, we had to run to the hospital and they stapled it closed, the only thing was, yes they shot it with numbing solution, but after like 30sec the idiot nurse grabbed the staple gun and shot me in the head, right against the bone, yet they didn’t really go in so she yanked the huge number of “4” out and then pressed harder against the head and shot another “4” HARDER back in, only thing is it’s only been like 45sec, and that numbing solution still hasn’t kicked in, OUCH! So in my case 4 was a large number! Oh I so wanted to take that staple gun and show the nurse how it felt, yet she drug me in the hall and made me just sit there..

I've got one of these on the shoulder strap on my small deployment bag.  Really comfortable and it certainly cushions the load.

Yeah I got one of those on one of my bags, but the bag in that other pic that iron man’s wearing is all padded without add ons,

The fun part is the journey getting there.  Taking it one day at a time is the best way to do it.

Thanks, I got the Mrs walking again, today she went on the treadmill since it’s been raining, the funny thing I noticed is every turn we make when we walk outside is a left hand turn, not one is a right, I swear, nothings right,,  :dunno:
