I would say get a G-Shock that's to your liking, but unless you're okay with a used one, that would probably blow your budget. (I did manage to find a used GD-100-1B for about $30 US last year, for whatever that's worth.) The only reservation I'd have with the F-91W is that I'm pretty sure it's illuminated with an LED. But that's purely personal preference. An F-91W would fit the bill. You might also consider the AE-1500WHX-1AV and the AE-1600H-1AV. Those have five alarms. I've always had good luck with Casio products, so I unhesitatingly recommend them. Timex may be another good option, but since I've only owned two, I couldn't come up with one to recommend to you.I know Casio US has an outlet store. If Casio UK has one, that may also be worth a look.Hope I've been at least somewhat helpful!
My Casio Royale has five daily alarms. That's AE-1200. I believe two more from the same family, AE-1300 and WS-1600, also have those alarms, but slightly different sets of features and different displays.
I still have an old HD600 dual time. I set the analog and digital when the daylight savings made the change. Six months ago, almost? Still in sync. I usually just leave the digital screen to just show the day/date anyway. Split seconds don't mean much here. The last working clock in my humble abode finally puked out. The ancient Casio and my phone are the only two working time pieces left. I should have bought another Casio when there were still some in the store near me. Now there are only scraps, and the price has gone up on those rejects as well. I always try on a watch before I buy it, to keep from doing a return. The bands on lots of these don't fit me for some reason. Best wishes, G
My old dad saw the Casio for years and asked me why I didn't buy a good watch. I told him the watch worked perfectly, and it did and does. Finally he got sick and dementia set it. I had to put him in a nursing home. He didn't recognize me and thought I worked where he was staying. I told him I was his son. He didn't believe me, but said his son had a watch like mine. Ah! Now that's good to know Rodia. I'd seen those and thought they looked cool. Cheers
Ok, so I've watch a couple of YouTube videos on the AE-1200, and now have a AE-1200WHUB on its way to me. It's the dark bezel with an olive green canvas strap. It should be here on Saturday.
Welcome to the very exclusive club of Casio Royale owners!
Be sure to post some photos. Best wishes. Gary
I found a photo of what looks like a resin case Royale.
I'd specifically went for the WHUB sub variant for the canvas strap, figuring by the time I replaced the metal or resin bracelet on the other variants it would make up the price difference. I'm not sure on how I feel about the strap yet. Maybe it just needs breaking in, but its not as comfy as the NATO strap on the MRW-200H.
Mexico City( the same time zone as Texas I think , yes there is a reason and its a dumb one)...
So here's the photos!Everything is set now. Time zones set for central European time (Paris to be pedantic); Mexico City( the same time zone as Texas I think , yes there is a reason and its a dumb one); and Tokyo ( same time zone as Adelaide were a friend lives).I've used all the alarm settings to mark when I've to take my meds. I'm very pleased with the alarm. Not as piercing or loud as my phone or tablet, and lasts just long enough. Should I need to use this feature when I get back to work it'll be ideal. I've had the hourly chime on as well; first time I've had this option since I was a kid. I like it for now I know the light gets some criticism in reviews, but it works well enough, albeit not as good as my Granda's old Timex. I do really like how the light works though. Choice of 1 or 3 seconds, and will automatically extinguish. The thing that's mad is this: I replaced my Samsung Android during the last Prime Day promotion ( it's predecessor gave me 5 years service), and its great in many ways, and an improvement over it's predecessor, but I've not taken much joy or excitement from it. The watch on the other hand has had me bouncing up and down in anticipation, and I'm not kidding, I woke up at 3am grinning, and using the light to check the time! It's been like being 10 back in the 80s and getting my first ever digital!
Mexico City is Central Standard Time. That's the same time zone as all but the very western parts of Texas. And you have me very curious as to what the reason for choosing that time zone is. My reason for selecting that time zone probably wouldn't be dumb: I will be observing CST next year.I have that MRW-200, but mine is still on the resin band. For whatever reason, I never got on with NATO bands.
