Identification of a Pen I saw in a TV Show
on: February 06, 2026, 05:36:10 AM
Hi friends, if anyone here knows anything about (fountain) pens, I was wondering whether they could identify this pen. It's from the Poirot season 12, episode 1 Three Act Tragedy, and is presumably a fountain pen that was available at or before 1937, as that show seems to be pretty good about keeping things time-specific. Unfortunately the photos aren't exactly clear, the first one being the best quality. If anyone knows anything about this pen, or a similar-looking pen, I'd be grateful if they could chime in!

Looks like it might be a 1930s Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen?

I want to say that I was thinking the exact same pen, but then it might look like I'm trying to be a smarty pants and just pretending I knew it.

I love that pen- absolutely beautiful!

Beautiful! What's the emerald SAK? And what's the green thing with grip knurling on the bottom? And what's the green leather pouch with the Victorinox logo and the thing under it made of metal that kind of looks like a flashlight?

I think you mean this one but if not, please let me know otherwise.  This one is a Spartan Lite with translucent green scales.  The green dot is the head of a pin.

The knurled grip is an Exotac Nanostriker XL.  It's a ferro rod and striker that you can attach to your key chain.  Very pocketable.

The green pouch is a key chain pouch for my Minichamp.  It's always on my key chain unless I'm doing a challenge.  I picked it up on eBay a few years ago.

The last one is my Sofirn SC13 flashlight.  It's a pretty good flashlight for $20.  It's got 3 light settings and it's in my EDC flashlight rotation.

Beautiful collection Reinier!!

I don't think I've seen that shade of alox green on the Eddie Bauer one.  Looks like a deep olive green.  Really loving that shade of green on the BLS SAK.  I need to keep an eye out for both of those!

The ones on the top row, third from the left and fourth from the right, are those standard scales? Like, Victorinox sold those models with those colour scales??

Thank you! Yes the Eddie Bauer one is a nice olive green. The BLS one is (or used to be?) available from the BLS website itself and a solid scaled version also exists :tu:

Third from the left is a custom order for some company. There is a logo on the back.

Fourth from the right used to be readily available as part of the "Color Twins" series. It wa sold paired with a kitchen knife and there was also an orange set. I use the green kitchen knife every day :)

I bought just the knives. They are a bit of a mystery. The colours look like the ones that came with the I.N.OX. watches.

I've since added a grey one to the collection.

Gary, is that green one the one that came with the knife set? I think you may have mentioned it in the see-through Sunday thread, but I can't remember.

Never heard of those but I looked them up and they're beautiful. Man, I love learning about new models from people on this site. It's amazing how many cool models exist that are just waiting to be found and purchased. Aztec, you should add the BLS Climber to the 'Bucket List Models' thread!

I was wrong I think, the BLS online store does not seem to exist anymore.

Both versions (translucent and solid) do sometimes pop up on https://www.ricardo.ch/ though :tu:

It is. Most sellers won't ship outside Switzerland though. I have actually bought some very nice pieces there but it depends on the seller's willingness to ship internationally.
I think in some cases I've had some help from CH based MTo members :)
