changing straps
on: February 06, 2026, 04:28:46 PM
thought I wear a watch today and I decided to change straps, whadda think better lighter or darker straps?

I know it's personal preference but I went lighter/brighter reddish straps and I don't care for the white accents on the darker strap.
I LOVE quick release watch straps/hardware, like 5 seconds to change a set of straps!

I like the darker strap because of the white accents, but it doesn't seem right for that watch.  I think that you have made the right choice- going with the lighter, redder brown offsets the face color and makes it pop a bit more.  I think if you went with the darker strap, particularly with the accents, the strap would take some of the attention away from the watch, and a beautiful watch like that one deserves to be seen!

Although they are both nice, and I don't think you could go wrong with either.  Had the watch had white numbers or more prominent white/light colored markings then I think the darker strap would have complimented it well.

I concur.  A darker version of the current band attached to the watch would compliment it very well.  It's surprising what a band swap can do to a watch.

I do overall like the darker straps "the fading tone" of them but I dislike the cheapy looking white accents, like they didn't finish them or used the cheapest materials.

I cannot repeat using quick release straps/pins it's so easy to change the look of any watch and you can find good sales on them all the time but make sure the strap supports the pin or comes made for it/pin+strap or else the pin won't fit regular straps without the groove because you can buy just the pins but your strap has to support them.  If you've never tried quick release TRY EM and make an old watch look new again.

New watch tens-hundreds/thousands of dollars, new strap 10-12 bucks!  ;)

I think the lighter strap you have on it now is the better pick.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

 :salute:

and I just ordered more straps! I think I have like 30-40 sets now for sizes 12mm (wife's watches) up to 22mm for my big ole “chunkies” and every thing in between  :ahhh
