Tesco 2D
on: February 24, 2009, 04:39:43 PM
Hi Folks
I have recently completed the family set and purchased the 2D Tesco offering as with it's siblings it offers great value for money the build standard is slightly below that of a Maglite but it's a sturdy peice with a forward switch that allows short flashes without putting fully on good for grabbing attention of others .As for range I tried it out on my usual short range and it would clearly light up a fence at 74 yards with good visble side spill at a guestimate maybe 15 to 20 feet
size wise it's about on a par with a 2D maglite so routine pocket carry is not an option but it fits the pocket on my Barbour well enough tint is very white all in all from a laymans point of view this is well worth the money and will be part of my standby /emergency kit it's definately not the pinaccle of the torch makers art but it's usable and as already stated you can't complain about the value for money

I suspect this is even brighter than my 2D Maglite as well, even with Maglites own LED upgrade.  I have the 2C Tesco version and am very pleased with the price:function:quality ratio.  As you say though for shear durability the Maglite wins out.

Where is it made?

I'd be amazed if it wasn't China or similar.
