Lynn may have issues, but at least he cranks out a decent product.  A friend of mine had a Smith & Wesson SWAT knife that he'd been after for a while.  I tracked it down and got it for him and I'm sorry I did.  The liner lock would spring out past the blade tang and wedge in between the blade and handle on the opposite side, then the blade would fold halfway and wedge itself in a 90 degree half open position.

In case you think that was one bad apple, my S&W First Response rescue knife had to have a rubber band around it to keep the blade closed.  I can go on, as I have seen a number of these knives, and none of them were even remotely decent quality.

One other thing that really pisses me off about Taylor is the marketing.  You all know that I don't really care where something is made if it's decent quality, and I'm not a "US Made or nothing" type guy, but their catalogues have pictures of US military, law enforcement, firefighters, with Old Glory emblazoned on every page, little paragraphs about how great the US is, and how Taylor is a US company, S&W is a trusted US name and so on and so on.  The Americana is laid on so thick that even Uncle Sam would vomit, and yet nothing they have is made in the US, despite the implication of talking about their US based company.

Basically, on top of peddling a cheap piece of crap product that no one could rely on, they are also very dishonest in the way they market that crap.

Pantograph:

Certain types of knives use a similar mechanism to open and close the blade.

You're just as bad as me.  :D

I love blades that are close to the mark (still legal I have to add).  The Cold Steel Triple action folder is a good example.
I'm back!!

I believe the pantograph knives were a hoax from get go. I had one , it was a pantfull , did some research , best evidence was that they were invented well after the war to ensnare fools like you and me !
