Vic has been trying to position itself as a premium designer label. They have been doing a lot of advertising in high fashion and men's magazines, etc. for the last few years.

Vic did advertise the Spirit for a while in an upper scale magazine a while back. I think it was Vanity Fair...?
That doesn't surprise me Tim - do you happen to know if it's the same with their sheaths?
Victorinox (and Wenger) do not manufacture their own non SAK products. They license their name to other manufacturers then sell them under the Vic or Wenger name.

Or do they still control distribution? (unlike say S&W that just license away their name to put on knives and flashlights, and don't control anything)
