I bought a Chinese multitool...
on: July 03, 2009, 09:02:40 PM
I can't believe I'm saying this but yes I actually bought a Chinese multitool(Great Neck NO. 12000). I found it new in box at a community yard sale and it was a quarter so I thought why not. Its a PST type mutitool with non locking tools and is of poor quality.

There's a difference between buying a reputable brand name product made in China and a generic, poorly made in China, dollar-store item.  Sounds like you just bought the latter.  Congrats, now you've crossed over to the dark side.   :D :D

There is no coming back from that either. They do make nice shelf occupiers though for a burgeoning collection.  :multi:

The one I got was either previously purchased or stolen so I figured it wouldn't do any harm.

It might be useful if someone asks to borrow a tool.

Not really might make them lose faith in multitools.

The Benchmade 'Vex' is a great Chinese knife and some of the torches coming from China are very good.
Don't think I've seen  Chinese Multi's yet, but all countries make cheap crap I imagine.

The Spyderco Tenacious is also an excellent Chinese-made knife.
