Wenger AA
on: March 27, 2010, 01:01:13 AM
How's this for yet another mad Wenger :D

Now I thought perhaps there might be a magnet at the end of the telescopic pointer, it'd make sense given the Automobile Association connection here but nope, its just a pointer suitable for ....eh ...  :pok:

Many thanks to Dan (cerbera147) for finding this and acting as middle man

I thought it was the Director model

I really hoped it would have a magnetic tip but it looks like it was made for the boardroom rather than those on patrol  :-\

Eh, no actually. I wanted to use my boys AA pickup as a prop but all I could find was an exceptionally cheap and nasty plastic thing so it got relegated to the reflecto shot :)

Dan tried to persuade me it'd be OK if I just got a Sharpie out and wrote AA on it  ::)

If it makes you feel any better we've been stood in the kitchen with it to our heads doing Dom Joly impressions.

That probably doesn't make much sense beyond the UK

Great Photo! and the yellow is very sharp.

I snuck a peak at the Wenger Yellow scales on the Wenger Patagonian Expedition 179, and I must say they looked even better in person than in the photos.  In person I think they were not quite as Canary Yellow in color, but a little more matt and darker.

Anyway now you can really direct things around there.

Frankly, I'm surprised the neither  Vic or Wenger hasn't done a PSA and yelled to the world:"The days of red handles are numbered!!  We're going all yellow"

I'd love it :tu:

"all Yellow" ?   I don't think I'm ready for that... I like variety.

I have a feeling with the DD scales we're going to see a lot more colors, and not just from photoshop.

My first thought on seeing that pic was "cool a telescopic magnet, that would be handy to a AA patrol man".  Maybe the AA thought it was magnetic when they ordered them? >:D

If it wasn't destined to become a shelf queen I'd certain add a little magnet to the end, as it is though I'll leave it stock :)

Looking good Neil :tu:

Maybe the pointer is for pointing at car stuff in the engine bay without getting burnt  or my favourite option is that it's a remote controlled SAK  : :D Get modifying sir  :pok:

So is it a Wenger Director? Going by Sakwiki it is
http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Wenger+Director

Glad to help out :D

I reckon its a Director as well Dan :tu:

Put your quaint wooden stick away Allan for I now have a shiny metallic one :P

My shelves are in such disarray that a) its embarrasing and b) you wouldn't be able to see much anyway.

I'm afraid you'll have to content yourself with individual shots as and when I can find desk space to take them :D
