Duracell MyGrid?
« on: October 13, 2010, 11:10:46 AM »
I have been looking at the MyGrid and some other charging pad things because I'm sick of having cables everywhere for a hundred different items- cell phones, mp3 players, bluetooth headsets, gps, cameras, laptop, netbook and so on.  Does anyone have or use the MyGrid or  anything similar?  How well does it work, and what are any drawbacks to a system like this?  It seems almost ideal, especially for traveling, if it works.

Tragically I know nothing about it...

I get the impression that this one is a little pricy compared to other similar products reviewed online. Maybe you should shop around more as there's a few others to choose from. The Duracell has attachments for your individual devices that must also be bought (also not cheap) and may not cover less well known kit.

That said, these are a great idea and I want one too! You can save a lot of energy by charging multiple devices at once so it's a green machine too :)

I saw the demo in costco, seems you still have to attach some sort of doodad to your devices either temporarily or semi-permanently, doesn't looks any easier than actual cables.

The Powermat was another one I was looking at, but I couldn't remember the name.

So it appears that no one here is using these?

What type of phone do you have?  If it's an iPhone, I remember seeing some options.

Ah; I would recommend you check www.gadling.com periodically; although it's a travel-based website, they do review various gadgets from time to time; maybe they'll run across a HTC-compatible battery/case plug-in before others get around to it. :tu:
