It might just be me being slow today, but I can't think that I've heard of the Opinel Outdoor Junior before: http://www.heinnie.com/opinel-outdoor-junior

As well as the curved "tip" I just noticed that the blade beside the Virobloc has been modified.

Why does that look familiar?

Just been watching Tribes, Predators and Me and spotted Gordon Buchanan taking the haunch off a kudu with what looked like a large Opinel, a number 12 at a guess.

But due to the fakt, the virolock also loocts the opening of the blade, it should be still legal in germany..
Ok it isnt that easy, you need a bit finger gymnastic to open it fully..
Pics will follow tomorow..
The blade got the same lenght as the blade of the skeletool, but whitout suration..

I dunno if they're one hand opening as such - I've a #7 and a #8, neither are that loose that they'd open by themselves if unlocked. If they get wet the wood will swell and tighten them alright, but it shirnks again when it's dried. I guess there's plenty here who know more then me and will advise :)

oh, and congrats - i've become a big opinel convert, had a #8 for years, never used just gathering dust until Mags convinced me to dig it out. Gets used for kitchen prep pretty much every day now.

When mine gets tight, I use the .. Opinel-Open "Technique" that is, tap the end of the handle on a hard surface. Mine only gets tight after I've washed it, though.
