The Dental cleaning works in many cases. I just use regular sewing thread, typically upholstry, cause its thicker, but in some cases thinner.  Toothpicks to reach in tight spaces for grime, needles too. Paper on occasion,

I have had one wierd issue with a blast I got in exchange for a busted PST.

I was trying to work some grinding out with mineral oil or wd40, and it actually wore a grove from the plier head into the frame. it was wierd, it would get all gritty and grind, I would lubricate, and it would almost get worse. I kept working it till I noticed after the grinding it wore a ditch, so I just quit trying to break it in.
