Personally, I think the colored alox prices are a little crazy. Stuff like this reminds me of the Dutch Tulip mania...

Apparently a number of ebay dealers read this forum. Soon after we discuss something here one or two copies will show up on ebay. There's now a PdG 2000 listed on the bay.

I think this thread should be renamed to ....... 'Hilarious'
..... Or maybe - 'Are ebay sellers really that dumb?'
And if it sells
..... 'Are ebay buyers really that stupid?'

He has an Ultra Rare Wenger as well

http://www.ebay.com/itm/WW2-ERA-1943-ULTRA-RARE-SWISS-MILITARY-FOLDING-KNIFE-WENGER-DELEMONT-NOS-NEW-GEM-/251935685253?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3aa8897a85

Not sure how an issued army knife can be NOS but he certainly has an impressive sales text

As I have a box full of these I am hoping he can set a new price point :)  >:D

OMG he basically repeated his spiel three times, who was he trying to convince, himself?

Listings like this me want to "ask a question"  something like this...

"HAHAHAHA thanks for the laugh, I was having a smurfty day but your listing made me literally laugh-out-loud, I will be giggling for the rest of the day.  YOU SMURFHEAD."

And as for 'they look different now' in the description ........ No they don't!!!
OK so different Tang stamps - And maybe of interest to a collector - But not at that price and not for a common, pretty recent SAK

Re the Vic butchers knives:
In this case I think 'Vintage' means worn out
$39 - Another great joke from ebay - Are these sellers for real ??  :pok:

Here is another one, but this one has a catch. The bidder     a***a (357) is from Germany and uses a bid and retract technique. He very rarely actually buys or wins anything. He just likes to bid prices up and then retract.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/747-Victorinox-Swiss-Army-SILVER-Alox-Bantam-Knife-Gently-Use-SERVICE-TRAINING-/371306642278

How is this retracting done?  Was he perhaps just outbid?
I have a history with this guy. He tried to buy something from me before. If you click on the "a***a" part of his id you can see his bid retraction history.

In one of my old auctions he used 2 id's to bid up the price and then retracted both bids near the end and planned on re-bidding with a snipe bid at the end in hopes of scoring a cheap winning bid.

So in effect he bids it up hoping that others won't out-bid him and then retract his bid near the end to decrease the amount.  Crafty.
Yes. Like if I was to bid $100 on a $50 item and then bid $99 with a second id it would max out the top bid at $100 which is way over the top of it's actual value. Then cancel or retract both bids in the last minute or so and re-bid with minimal bid to win.

How does this work? Most folks looking at the item will acknowledge the item is overbid and probably will not bid even with a snipe bid since it is overpriced. Then with all the high bids retracted near the end there is no one watching or has it on their snipe list so it goes for cheap.

It does not always work though as there are many who manually watch and bid at the last second on auctions too. :P
And now if you will take a look at this auction you can see this guys sole purpose is to either cheat or make someone else pay a much higher price. Smurfity smurfer!
Here is another poor guy getting bid up by this smurfer who uses bid retraction to expose high bids. :twak:
