LM Kick with metal saw
on: February 24, 2012, 12:38:20 AM
Hello multitoolers :D

I'm new to this forum, and I thought it would be fun to dedicate my first post to my favorite multitool, my modded LM Kick.

I used to carry my LM Juice S2 every day for a long time, but I always felt I needed a bigger set of pliers and a metal file. I do not like to carry heavy MTs like a LM Charge etc, so I had to come up with another solution.

This thread gave me the perfect idea: http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,1509.0.html
I also realized that it was possible to add a modded hacksaw blade on the "knife side" as the knife blade is slightly thinner than the metal file from my LM blast(which I put on the other side). I also removed the lanyard ring and the can/bottle opener since I do not really need them and added the scissors from my Blast.

Everything (including the hacksaw blade) stay in place very well when opened and I am pretty satisfied with my mods so far. The whole tool weighs 165g (5.8oz).

I also apologize for the bad pictures (I am a bad photographer :P)

very cool mate, you should add a clip as makes the kick a even handy ligthweight pocket carry,  :tu:

I had thoughts about that, but at the moment I carry it deep down in my pocket, and it does not move around much as I have alot of other crap there too :ahhh
Another idea I had was to replace the pivot screws with something similar with hex type head instead and "smoother" edges on the head so it does not catch my pocket every time I put it down there :P I do not know where to find one of those with the right pivot size though.
Anyways, thanks for the feedback guys! :tu:

Good news guys! I have maybe found a way to make the Kick the ultimate full size lightweight MT ::)

If I replace the plastic handle inserts with something thinner and add more washers next to the pliers, there is just enough place to add two more "full size" tools  >:D >:D :ahhh

If I drill a few holes in the handles I could maybe keep it under 6oz and replace the small blade with the bigger blade from the Blast and a wood saw or something like that on the other side :ahhh

Have anyone tried this by the way? :D
