Who has a LM Pulse?
on: April 28, 2008, 02:56:13 AM
I just bought a Pulse on Ebay for pretty good price and love it :multi: it is a great MT has great features (gotta love that file). :D  Anyone else feel this way about there Pulse?  Also if you have had any problems with it would like your feedback as well. :D

I've got a few of them. The Pulse used to be my favorite. I used them for a few years and they never failed me. They have the tools I needed and the tools lock.

I moved on to different and more modern tools because I prefer pocket clips and one hand opening blades, but the Pulse has the advantage of being smaller than the Charge Ti that I EDC now.

My son still prefers his Pulse largely because of size but he is begining to look seriously at the Crunch.

I have one. It's more of a collectible though. Only if I had found it before the way, It'd probably be my EDC.

I've got one, but TBH it never really grabbed me ???  I just can't get on with those locks.

Great tool selection though.

Yep.  :D

I think I never used it enough to wear it in.  I read somewhere else that the locks improved with wear so it will be interesting to see how you get on Hawk.

Another thing about the Pulse for me was that strictly speaking it was illegal to EDC, so it would make far more sense for me to invest in a PST II which is what I plan on doing.

The Pulse is one of my favorites. In my opinion it has the best scissors of any multi and is very comfortable. I don't mind the locks too much, I just wish it has a pocket clip.

I like the blade selection on the Pulse (same as a PST II) and the rolled handle edges and the all metal construction. But I don't care for those lock release levers. They are well made and they function as intended, I just don't care for them.  :-\

Great pics Bob :D It's not to hard to get one if your patient hawkchucker.  There is a guy on Ebay that sells 1 a day (pretty much) it is the windows server 2003 edition, but what is cool is that it is new in collectors tin and he doesn't even put that in the listing. Very pleasant transaction and shipped quickly. :mail:  I believe that I read somewhere in another thread that most ppl on this site(MT.O), if they have Pulse have same one like mine the windows version.  Very nice feeling MT :climber: I believe that it is only 1 ounce heavier than PST as well.

I don't have one,but I wish I did,the PST II is my favorite tool, but to get it to lock, and not hurt to hands to squeeze it looks like an ideal tool to me.

It never ends does it? You allways want the one you dont have. Well my birthday is May 16 Maybe Ill drop hints to the kids this week, but I am sure I will be getting my normal gift. They all come over for the day and kill alll my landscaping. They do the lawn the shrubs and all the mulch. Plus they go through the prop shop and clean it. trust me when you cut styrofoam with a dremmel the crap gets a static charge and clings to everything!

I got 3!

I bought a lot of 3 used Pulses from ebay, thinking I'd keep the best one and sell the other 2. Thing is, they were all slightly different when they arrived, so I kept them all!

I like the Pulse, but agree with some of the comments on here about the blade locks, which are a bit awkward even though they work very well and look great. The rounded handles make it much more comfortable than the PST2, and I find I use it more than the PST 2 for that reason alone.

But mostly, it looks great!

I used to come here a lot.

Hey Dave, what exactly are the slight differences if I may ask?

J-sews - Of the three - two are marked "USA", whereas the other has "TOOL" on the plier heads.

The diamond file on the the one marked "TOOL" doesn't have the groove down it (so its very like the file on the PST 2 for example) whereas the other two files do.

Of the two grooved files, one has the grey matt finish, but the other has polished SS at the base.

Very slight differences, but hey, I had them there - in my hand - it was meant to be  :D

Here's a piccy....
