Did gerber ever make a leather sheath?
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

You just made me realize that every Gerber sheath I've seen in my life was made of nylon.

For the MPT, yes.  I've never seen a leather sheath for a flicky Gerber though.

I have a Leather sheath for my MP600.

Fits pretty dang good if I remember correctly which leads me to believe its not a factory sheath.

I will try and find it and see if it has any Gerber markings.

You will need a small hole at the bottom. I believe Lowtech ran with the idea and made one with a metal ring that looked great. I'm sure you could do the same.

Thanks but I'll need a bigger hole as mine is a fisherman model.

A family friend visited today, and gave me what I think is an MP400 (except it has a file instead of scissors) as a late birthday present.    I like it quite a bit.  The locking mechanism and pliers have taken some getting used to. I hope to get the bit kit Gerber offers later on to go with it.

This is my first full-sized Gerber tool.  I had a Clutch before it, which was good, but the screws loosened up, and I stripped them trying to screw them back.

Does/did anyone ever have a gerber 400 series that the cutters didn't cut that well? The ones on my fisherman don't go closed all the way like on my others? I know I can't send it for warranty as these are long discontinued.

You can see daylight through my mp400 fisherman cutters but they close when you apply pressure and they work fine.

Mine is pretty bad. I may have to grind them slightly to make better cuts. Do you have a pic so I can compare?

Mine are actually pretty darn sharp.    But, since there's no hard wire notch, I don't see myself using them for what I use my Leatherman PST II's wire cutters for the most.

With a little pressure, that's just the light reflecting off the anvil side, the cutters are completely closed.

I didn't realize that the Fisherman had anvil-style cutters.

Me neither....

As an aside, I don't have a new Gerber, but I have something on the way to fit a Gerber..... hopefully..... the last time I tried this it didn't work, but hopefully I'll have more luck this time round.

More details when it comes in  :tu:

Well it was another fail  :-\ though it could be made to fit....

It relates to the EAB/EAB Lite... should I make a thread in the Gerber forum or the Edged tools...

Mine doesn't do that grrrr. I know if I sent them back they wouldn't fix them. So I guess I will do it myself.
