That looks ideal for a more advanced FAK, as well as being practical in many other instances. Love the aluminum sheath.

And it supports folks with handicaps.

I'm going to be honest. I'd rather just get a forehead thermometer strip for a couple bucks.

No amount of armor is going to make me feel good about toting around a fragile glass rod full of mercury.

Mercury based thermometers are not allowed anymore and nearly extinct around here for the danger of poisoning yourself when braking a thermometer.
I eMailed them and am awaiting an answer.

And yes, this is an alcohol thermometer, not mercury. The red bulb is a dead give away.

The reason I would prefer this type over the forehead strip is due to versatility. Not only can you get an accurate body temp with this, but also ambient temp, water temp, etc. It offers many more uses beyond fever assessment.
