Trying to look up some specs on the Leatherman Blast on Leatherman.com today and can't find it.

I know it's retired so I searched the retired multitool section, but no joy.
http://www.leatherman.com/retiredmulti-tools

Then I google "leatherman.com blast" and seem to find a direct link to the Blast page, but the link takes you to a "page not found" on the leatherman site.

Why would Leatherman remove the Blast from their website like that?

I can't find it either. Who knows. Maybe they are planning on resurrecting the Blast, or it could be an error on their web site.
A little Leatherman information.

The Kick is also missing from the retired tools list.

EDIT:  No it isn't, I just failed at alphabetical order.  :twak:

The Leatherman Blast has been my favorite EDC for about the last year. Seems I read a lot about how the zytel was sharp and would dig into users hands.

Mine was like that too at first, but I took a small file and lightly went over the sharp edge a few times and it solved that problem. A easy solution that I'm sure many others have probably done too.

I filed the Zytel on mine, too, because it was sharp.

But, then the knife blade cut me while folding it up.  I don't recall exactly how this happened, but I cursed a blue streak and retired the blasted Blast.

I don't use the knife on my blast all that much. I keep a Spyderco Dragonfly in my work shirt pocket and for after hours I keep a Spyderco Ladybug on my key ring. Both seem much handier for me.

  • I may get older but I refuse to grow up.
Not the fist time this happens.

There are quite a few that are no longer listed on the LM site. Original Piranha being most recent. You can no longer find any of their flashlights, no Monarch, no Serac, ...

The Blast is a strange one to drop from the page though. Hopefully they will soon list it back.

A couple of days ago, I emailed Leatherman about this and they never responded.  Not that it really matters.  Just sayin'.

I guess it's just wishful thinking brought about by the fact that everytime I find a blast it looks like crap.

Per Leatherman:

"You caught it us right in the middle of making a change on our website.  Our Marketing Team was in the process of updating a 'limited time offer' of a black Blast tool!  Although this version has been retired for some time, we were able to obtain a few and decided to share the wealth with our website customers.  To my understanding, the silver Blast will be showing back up on the retired page again soon.

Good eye, catching that missing tool!

  • You're amongst friends.
That's not a bad price considering it's directly from them. I wish they were Fuses instead though, then I might have to get one.

I think the price is not bad because Leatherman is not undercutting its vendors.  The vendor stock has dried up.

I was hoping they would "find" some Knifeless or BO CC Fuses.  :ahhh

I'm going to keep this one virginal in the Powernoodle Arsenal for a rainy day.  It makes me feel good to have one or two in reserve.  Its my version of a wine cellar.

I see nothing wrong with this. I have way many more collectible tools than I have users.   ::)

Wish they shipped to Canadians, I'd really like a blast but it looks like if I buy one I'll be stuck getting it off ebay. It'd probably be perfect for leaving in vehicles.
