I bought these several years ago, after they were discontinued (of course) and really like them. Been sticking them in Altoids kits with firesteels for a while.

Just changed my watch band so now I can try them like that. Pretty neat I think.

Here's one on an old Nato style band

So who likes them? Who uses them?

Not got a Suunto, but I was recently given a watch band compass by Lowtech and I have to say I've been impressed.  Surprisingly accurate. :tu:

I recently bought one... at least here they are widely available and not discontinued

Same here, I have a no name one that goes on the watch when I'm out and about, just in case. I try to position it a bit further from the watch case than in SAK Guy's pictures as the watch case will affect the needle.

I use the Suunto A10 for regular map and drawing use, small, light and a lot easier to navigate by. ;)

I checked that on mine and it is unaffected.  :tu: I did just move it to the other side of that keeper and it's a lot more comfortable and still up by the watch.

I see they back in production now but there was a period between 2010 and 2012 that they were very hard to find. Don't see the blue ones though.

I am a compass buff since I was in the boyscouts. Although I can navigate easily by sun and stars I like to carry a compass, and I do. I carry the Victorinox/Recta SOS set compass on my EDC but I also have electronic compasses on my iPhone, Tablet, Casio Pathfinder and Suunto Core, so there's no need for a Clipper on my wrist but I would like one on my backpack for show off! I had one attached to a zipper (not Suunto) that broke off.
They are useful for finding my way when visiting an unknown city. It is so easy to navigate in an open landscape but city lights erase but the brightest stars and Northen cities have a heavy overcast of clouds for days in a row.
Anyway, they are pretty and hint for adventure.

I bought some nock offs a few years ago. Out of 10 only one responded sluggishly and all lined up to my Silva Guide.
I broke my first one loading freight one day. The clip snapped, it went flying  and the bezel fell off when it hit the wall. Now mine rides inside my hat band at the 7-8 o'clock position.

I've been driving local delivery for a couple years and am a map guy in spite of having a perfectly good gps on my phone. I find a compass is handy especially in new developments that are not on the map, but I tend to use the one in my dash display.
I used to be a lot of things, and someday will again.
But for now I'm just a lost jack of trades with neither mastery nor home. ~NoaIsumi

I think it's just great how a lot of us like the same stuff ...  :D

I bought these Silva clippers right after I bought my Casio Riseman, and in some way I like that combination more than my Casio Pathfinder which has a build in compass, since these are always on, can be used without having to push a button, and they don't drain the battery  ;).

I too like compass, aside from practicality, I do like to collect them.

Beware of these wrap around compass, I use one and even with careful use(just wrapped around my casio watch band), it broke only within months.  If you intend to keep using it, don't permanently wrap it around your watch band and take it off when you don't need it.
