WoodsDuck's November LM Juice Challenge Thread

Decided to make my own thread so I don't lose track of which day I've posted.
My only Juice is an S2, so here goes nothing...
(I tried to post this last night and imgur was down, so I decided to postpone until this morning.)
Day 01-

It was a slow day for tools. The only thing I had the chance to do was open a package of balloons in the storage closet. Which happens to be where I keep my stuff during my shift, and the only place I can actually use the Juice at work. The picture didn't turn out too well, but it gets the point across.



I find the Juice scissors effective enough, though they don't cut as well toward the tip of the blades because of what I assume to be poor leverage. Scissors are probably my most used MT implement, and I'd rate these as decent, but not great.

Day 02-

Aside from a couple things I couldn't manage to photograph, the Juice was mostly just on mail duty today.







I also used the scissors to cut a couple thick plastic ties off clothing. Can't complain about the performance in any of these tasks.

Day 03-

Used the medium-ish fleathead driver to tighten up an old bathroom cabinet for my grandmother today;



There were a *lot* of toothbrushes. Also this tin of Band-Aids from I guess the 80s;



At any rate, the flatheads definitely bite pretty well. Whether it's screws or your fingers.

Oh, I also used the scissors to do some facial grooming, but I ain't posting pics of that.

Nice journey so far. I handled a s2 for the first time at REI today and I really liked it. Are your pliers tight or do they loosen up over time.

I haven't had the S2 terribly long, and I've put little mileage on it prior to this challenge. Though I did buy it used off Amazon after someone returned it. So far the pliers are tight, and the blade came sharp. My biggest complaint is this newer model's plastic handle scales; on one side there's a sharp edge on the plastic that digs into your hand when you squeeze the pliers hard. Also the interior implements are somewhat difficult to deploy, relative to most MTs I've used.


Edit: I realized immediately after posting you might be referring to the ease of opening the pliers rather than whether there's play in the pivot. The pliers on mine open very easily. Much more so than my Rebar or Surge, even though I've spent much more time breaking them in.

No I meant the pivot. Thanks. I am leaning towards one now. Just not for $60

Long, busy day today. Took these pics after dark, when it's impossible to get a good photo at my house.
Now you'll see why I usually take my pics outside in the daylight.

Agree, I mostly EDC a Juice S2 because of it's compact size and pliers + scissors.

Had to do a little plumbing work today, so the Juice ended up cutting lengths of silicone tape;



Also cut down some ranger bands, but I didn't get any usable shots of that.

Patched up my old rake with a brand new cotter pin;



The pliers flexed a bit while I was bending the "arms" of the pin. Twisting seems to be a nearly universal weakness for MT pliers, but this happened pretty easily. Based on this I would definitely recommend caution with pretty much any twisting on the Juice. Who knows how little it might take to snap the jaws if this relatively small amount was enough to flex them.

I've actually done notably heavier twisting with the pliers on my Deluxe Tinker without any trouble.

Nothing going on today but a bit of fall cleaning. Though I did use the S2 to open some leftover Halloween candy.
