a referral to an orthopedic surgeon to get a ganglion cyst removed.

Next time, try this.

We were going to!!! My wife is an RN and she loves inflicting physical pain on me in the name of medicine (or any reason, really ) However, she decided it would not be a good idea since I have an additional issue with the same wrist - what eventually turned out to be tendinitis. Also, I mentioned this to my Doc, and she said it works, but that the shell of the cyst remains, and fills back up. The only way to get rid of it, is to have it removed.

Update. I changed my mind. I really don't feel like fooling with setting up the referral, and multiple appointments with the ortho surgeon. So I told my wife to grab a book. She giggled with excitement as she scampered into the closet. She came back with a terrifyingly huge nursing textbook.

Before:

After:

It totally worked! My wife completely nailed it first try. It hurt, lol. Apart from the stinging of the book hitting my skin, it was sort of a burning sensation at the site of the cyst. It went down almost exactly like in the above video. The knot has been really hard (I initially thought it was bone) but after smashing the bump is less noticeable and kind of more spread out, and it feels like jell-o. If it comes back, which I suspect it will, I will follow up with the orthopedist :tu:

The hit did not bother my other issue with the wrist. Good to go! :D

Perhaps in celebration of successfully completing the January SOG Power Challenge  I decided to make some Rotel/Velveeta dip for some nachos today for lunch. Call in the can opener!

I think I figured something out with the infamous SOG can opener. I know that others have probably tried/known this, however, I am usually one of the last to the party :D It works much better to work around the can backwards, than forwards. The end result is much better - still a little jagged, but not nearly as nasty as I have ended up with in the past. Pretty much the same as what I end up with using Leatherman's combo opener.

Went for a little "MT-stuck-in-a-tree" photo op after I finished my nachos. The weather is really decent for central Montana this time of year with even a nice blue sky too boot  :tu:

I know I am a bit late, but I have been trying to catch up on the SOG forum and some others, anyways, what a great thread! Great pics also. I have really enjoyed reading it.
Also for the record, all of my SOGs are females and there is no sense in letting a dirty mind go to waste. Lmao!
