Kampfer's SOGuary
on: January 02, 2016, 03:55:22 AM
Happy new year everyone.
Me and UP³ started the new year on the dance floor, then it went AWOL for an hour, later I found it on a table next to a pile of bottle caps.... :-\

I was unconscious for most the day, recovering from the earlier celebration.
Found a pilot in carbon freeze, freed him with UP³, tiny wire and zip tie are no match to UP³ pliers.

Glad to see you participating! I thought you had bailed out after all, turns out you were too busy nursing a hangover.  I bet some hair of the dog would help.

Day 5: Making a lanyard, UP³ scissors just can't cut the 550 cord. I must cut it first with the plier's wire cutter then finish it off with scissors.

What about the scissors is the issue? Loose pivot, pushing out the front, uncomfortable to use?

Just like Wingman's scissors, like to push things out rather than cutting them.

That is easy enough to fix then.

Day 6: Can't opener.
Since UP³ has not have a can opener, I used the one on Paratool, no difference.
Again, it chewed the can inside of opening it.

Day 7: Setting a Wave free.
Continue to find Phillip driver very easy to slip out from large screws. The retention of inside is weak, tools fold under pressure.

Drop a V-cut in that bad boy - works great on cord and line :tu:

Do tell. I've been wondering if their were a way to improve the SOG scissors.

V cutter can't coexist with scissors on PPP.

Problem with the SOG can opener is it is a mirror image of the Vic. It looks like a Vic can opener but ground backwards. If that makes sense.

Ive been wondering lately if bending the PPPs spring inwards would improve tool retention ling term. Obviously this would make the tools harder to get out as well, but its  start.

When is SOG going to make a Pocket PowerLock?

Nothing much happening during the weekend, stuck at work most the part.
Other than opening some snacks, open a couple bottles and pop a few balloons, no major MT action.
