IMO, not a bad mod, and actually kind of cool. The previous owner was probably a machinist. All the real estate on the tool was utilized to the max. Wonder why he let it go though...

Has the side of that Wave been turned into a drill bit index?

Let's just say that it was modified to meet someone's particular needs and was probably well loved for a time.  Looks to me like it was used by a machinist as well.

I don't see anything really wrong with the tool, but the con-artist sales pitch pisses me off

True. Like a customised motorcycle. Build for the individual. Seen that before. But with luck and patients he will sell it.
Even if its to check drill bit sizes.

$40  :twak: he's asking a lot for that. If it was capable of being sent back for warranty repair it might have been worth bidding, but leatherman would just

I saw this one last night too.  The only Wave I've seen without outside tools!

I know.  They make me smile though, so I thought I'd share!

I caught someone yesterday selling a Fuse, but the description was for a Kick.  The locks caught my eye!

Yeah they are rather humorous when you know what you are looking at :D Kicks use to sell cheaper than Fuse but I don't know if they still do since they are both retired tools  Keep posting the oddities I enjoy seeing them
