Just to confirm, for the hard of thinking (firiki, I'm looking at you :pok:), minimalist means just that.  One SAK only at one time.  But you can change it day to day if you want.

firiki never claimed to be anything else...  :D

My real problem, though, is my vivid imagination, I think. I imagined that carrying two SAKs that fit the bill would double my eligibilitivess and perhaps boost my chances of getting that badge, is all

Just for you, I'll get a special badge done.  Carry 2 SAKs together for 15 days and post a pic a day.  Something like this, maybe:

Won't work for me.  If it was a 6 layer challenge and I could have at least 3 SAKs and a multitool on me at all times then fine.  Just can't make two layers work.  You see, I have been a max-imist since birth.  😜😜😜

I've got a prize for the giveaway:

Some kind soul has sent me a Cybertool 41.  Second hand, but in great condition.  It's missing a bit, the pin and could do with a clean, but I'll tidy it up and get some decent photos.

I'd been eyeing up Swisschamps and CT41s as a prize, as I reckon giving away a fat SAK is an appropriate prize for the minimal challenge, but they were too expensive.  I have ordered a brand new CT34 to giveaway but it's not here yet.  The CT41 is a fitting reward, and it's down to the generosity of an unknown member.

I just did this for my August challenge!  I used a Spartan for the whole month instead of either the Explorer or Swisschamp which are my norm.  LOL

I really need to carry some of my new knives but this opened my eyes the first time around and I think I should do it again.
I'll probably be carrying my Nomad.

I'll join in, I'm mostly carrying an economy Spartan and an Executive anyway and I could easily do either one of them.

I think ill join. I have a question though. Do 58mm scissors/ bottle openers count as one layer, or two?

I reckon if you're going to enter with a 58mm knife then you need all the help you can get, so they count as one layer. A Rambler would be just fine, for example.  :)

I've got a lot of options for the month:

58mm
Classic SD
Rambler

74mm
Executive

84mm
Danish alox Cadet
Danish alox Bantam
Small Tinker
Apprentice
Waiter

91mm
various Tinkers (red, black, white and yellow with BO tools)
Spartan
Junior Mechanic

93mm
2 Soldiers ('78 and a newer, undated one)
Various Pioneers (black, black/red, red new cross, red old cross, silver)
2 Electricians ('99 silver old cross, a new silver one with red shield)

I'm tempted to build a couple of mods - a Voyageur and a Scientist (if I can find another combo tool somewhere).

Not quite 1/day, but not far off. :tu:

I feel like bonding with my 108mm GAK.
Would that be minimalist ?

Maybe I'll alternate between a Compact and maybe something else.  But I really like the challenge of sticking to just one.

Only a couple of days of non-minimal carry left.  All of this is going to have to be left at home

I'd consider having a go with just my burgundy Alox Rambler, but I usually complement that with a large folding knife (e.g. Spyderco Pingu/Urban etc.) and not sure I can manage with just the small Rambler blade. Could maybe try with a Compact or Small Tinker (Cellidor) or Soldier or Cadet (Alox)...

Does this count? I see a lot of them on here but no one seems to carry one. It's a bit on the heavy side but it is fantastic in hand.
