Congratulations! Looks like I'll be in the same boat when I go back to Germany, my girlfriend heard that the place I work is going from two maintenance men to just one. I as last in so I'm first out. Such a bummer.

Grant - congrats on the new job.  I recently spoke to a fellow who was delivering to our "super" mailbox and he was doing the same thing - relief work for delivery.  He said he quite enjoyed it as every few days he was given a new area of delivery and it gave him a chance to see parts of the city that he hadn't seen before. 

He had a small station wagon and said it was just big enough - I've seen some of the delivery people use a big mercedes suv or a big truck - that can't be very cost effective.

I doubt very much my Jeep will be a terribly cost effective option either, but I'm not trading it in on something else any time soon so I will have to make do.  :D
