My "new" leatherman charge TTI
on: October 28, 2016, 12:17:11 PM
Hi, i'm new in this forum as you can see here:
http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,69000.0.html

Few day i've received my leatherman charge TTI bought in "used but like new condition" on ebay for 95€
http://www.ebay.it/itm/23...geName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Here some pictures

The sheath smell of new leather an is never used for sure  :)
All the blades are as new, very sharp and no teeth on them  :)
The bits are used , all european size i need for, but someone lacks, so i'm thinking to buy a bit set and maybe a bit extender  ;) Anyway i've to buy separately if the charge was buyed new in shop.

But there is a tool in my new multitool i think is strange/stupid, is this:

Let me explain: is really only one bit available in the world i can put in this bitdriver? no more bit/tools available to put in it???
I've just buyed my charge and i'm already planning for the first mod.
The eyeglasses screwdriver is very useful to me and i don't want to renounce.
I know someone has modified a flat bit of the bigger screwdriver and solder this little bit into.
http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,59112.msg1080147.html#msg1080147
My questions are:
Is it possible to drill/bore a bit with a drill press and a HSS drill bit? or the only way is to dremel it by the side?
Than i'll have a free position in my charge cause of leaving the small bitdriver. Can i simply put in it an AWL? Where can i found an AWL of the right size?
Thank you for the answers!

The eyeglas screwdriver is reversible, so you might want to sharpen one side to an awl to keep both functions and just turn the bit when needed.

I myself barely use that small bit, but don't mind it being there.

Do NOT buy a bit extender!
It is overpriced for what you get.
You're better of grinding a standard  bit holder to half thickness.
Same result, 10x cheaper = no problem if lost.

On top of that: nice catch!
It does look really good.

That's a nice looking Charge and that small bit driver has been extremely useful at least to me.

Welcome to the forum
