The Batman Challenge
on: October 21, 2020, 12:07:10 AM
Right so for my first crack at a challenge I thought I'd stick to something close to my heart: carrying an unreasonable amount of gear in pouches  :ahhh

The rules are pretty straight forward:

-Every day for 30 days in the month of January you need to carry a minimum of two things on your belt, but the more the merrier

-You must only use the tools you carry on your batbelt for as much as possible, if you needed a none carried tool then post what it was and why your inner Batman failed you, then feel the burning shame of Adam West follow you for eternity

-You must post a picture of your load out for each day, if you are carrying exactly the same load out multiple days running then you can use a glamour shot or in use shot of one of the tools (You don't need to post a picture wearing the belt, body issues are real and should be respected)

-It doesn't strictly have to be a pouch, you can have your keys clipped to your belt/belt loop and hanging into your pocket for example (that's one item)

-You must find and mercilessly beat one criminal during the month

-You don't need to stick to the same load out, mix and max to your heart's content!

Some examples of things you could carry:

-Knife (fixed or folding)

-Multitools clearly!

-Flashlights

-Firearms if you are able and so inclined

-Skinths with anything in them  :ahhh

This challenge should encourage us all to carry all the things we want to carry but couldn't justify normally, none of this too much weight or I'll look like a dork nonsense  :twak:

Redundancy is not only acceptable, it's encouraged! Two is one, one is none and seven is a MTO member

So, who will join me and in January 2021, become the night?

Question; Can I have mutliple Bat-Belts/Load-Vests  :pok:

1) Work related: I can't really carry my work kit outside of work (Baton/Cuffs/Limb Restraints/Radio etc.)

2) Normal EDC stuff: Same as above really  >:D (No, only kidding  :D )

3) SAR Kit: Usually includes Bat-Belt & Load/Tac' Vest

I wear a Load/Tac' Vest at work because, well...why not  :dunno: However, on my days off I tend to be pouchless, although maybe not for January

I may have occasion to wear a belt and Load/Tac' Vest, not at work, but whilst doing my SAR stuff (if called out?)

Basically, I have a lot of gear and things to keep it in but, most of it is not public carry friendly

I await your judgement  :salute:

Of course! The more the merrier I say, just include what each one is for and if possible try and show us what's in it (I'm not sure on how much you're allowed to do that, I'm too busy running the other direction trying to keep my sheep away from the ol bill  :ahhh). The more gear and options you can cram into the challenge the more you're living the Batman dream  :tu:

That reminds me, I wanted to grab a 'Safari/fishing' vest to cram full of useful things

I shall add my name to the list then  :drink:

I'll show what I can although, to be fair, most of the stuff is on display (or mostly not secret squirrel stuff anyway)
The only thing that may not be possible is actual "usage" pics' as this is frowned upon by both BF & SAR  :twak:

Perhaps, an advent calendar style reveal; one pouch & contents per day  :dunno:

Safari/Fishing vest type thing. Is this what you had in mind... :dunno:

So, it sounds as if this is the same as the EDC challenge but you have to have everything on you instead of in your bag.  This could get interesting.

It's similar, but you don't have to stick with a declared set of gear throughout, you can mix and match as much as you want. You just need to meet a minimum contribution to future back problems each day

It's going to require some sort of jiggery-pokery with the work/SAR and home type EDC thing combined

Could you not award a multi-tasker (or didn't pay attention) badge

If I manage both, do I get to choose? If so, what do they look like? So many questions... :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

I'm hoping to join... But I have to hope for something under the Christmas tree to mount on my belt... Right now I only got my Leatherman.

Also, does anyone know if someone makes a Kydex sheath for a SAK?
