The official CRKT Zilla-Tool + Guppie waiting room.

Who esle is trembling with anticipation over these new tools from CRKT?

Anyone have any info to share?

I've been hunting around and it seems like if they haven't hit ebay yet then they haven't hit any retailers either. Anyone seen them stocked anywhere?

I was told they would ship in April sometime, that's all. I am excited to have then in-hand as well.

I'm most excited about the Zilla-Tool because it looks to be everything the Buck X-tract lacked for me. Plus it has an ambidextrous pocket clip; WOOT WOOT! The Guppie is cool too but I figure on not really using it much and merely buying it for the neat eccentric factor.

So far I really do like the aesthetics of the I.D. Works line and hope there are more multi-tool/knife releases planned.

I tried to buy some of these at SHOT in January but was told that because they were new items I'd have to wait until April. :angry:

You can buy stuff at the SHOT show?

I think in the official literature of the SHOT show no sales are supposed to be taking place but I've bought items at all three shows I've been to. You're supposed to have a business license but you can also get entry to SHOT as a guest even though you aren't a retailer. In any event, once you have your badge and gain entry to the show no one asks about who you are. Many companies tell you to come back on the last day because they would rather sell the stuff than lug all of it back with them. Sometimes they don't even wait until the last day and just sell their products the whole time. The best part is that you usually get dealer price and without sales tax so you can really get some good deals. Some companies don't sell anything because they go to another trade show right after SHOT, but in a lot of cases you can purchase items. CRKT was doing pretty brisk business with a lot of their knives when I went by there Sunday afternoon. But imagine my disappointment when I found out I wasn't getting my greasy little hands on those new multitools.

I ordered a ZillaTool and a Guppie from AG Russell back in February. They said it would ship in April. Today is already April 2nd, and they are STILL not here yet! I'm not sure how much longer my patience will hold out......

Prepare to wait a lot longer. I just got this:

This email is to update you regarding the status of the CRK&T Model 9070 Guppie Tool that you ordered.

Columbia River Knife & Tool has alerted us to additional production delays on this product.

The Guppie is now scheduled to begin shipping in July.

I got the same for the Zilla.

The torch part on the Guppie is removable and its attached with a strong magnet, Im ordering one when they come out...

I had that idea years ago for a small toolkit that all clipped together magnetically actually, anybody ever hear of anything like that? It'd probably be too much of a danger to electronics though, wiping peoples hard drives and mp3 players.

Well crap. I didn't really care about the Guppie; I was really shooting for the Zilla though.

I'd be surprised if AG gets them before Country Knives since Country Knives is the dealer CRKT links to directly on their site. If they do then I should have ordered from AG again.

Previously, the CRKT site showed the Guppie and Zilla-Tool as being available in April.

Now that it is May, they've changed the expected availability date to......May.

At least it seems they are doing plenty of QC. Hopefully they will get these tools out without any possible faults (if any) ironed out and we get no broken blades or such in the first production runs. (We need a smiley with fingers crossed).

That Guppie looks awesome, but I'd prefer the bits to snap on somehow, rather that just a magnet. If I get one, I'll probably just end up carrying it without the bits, or get a seperate pouch for 'em. Speaking of carabiner tools, has anyone heard of the national geographic tool. You can always find 3 or 4 on eBay, but they always end up with 5 or 6 bidders. Popular items. Locking blade, screwdriver, and something else, I think it was a can opener, all based around a carabiner.

I have just got notice that it is hoped they will be available in mid July. Here in the UK we often get stuff after it is released in the US (took ages for the X-Tract to become available) so our waiting maybe coming to an end.
Mind I think the retailers are as much in the dark as we are.
