Ok i still no nothing about torches but this lot cost me hardly anything, gerber came with my clutch,the red one  is called a mullberry ? 9 led's and 3 AAA , is pretty bright and fits nicely into my EDC wallet, the next is a police 12 led cr123 3.0v its ok but i complained as the switch is odd, it dont click on and off like the others,you hold it to keep the torch on ,or screw the other end to keep it on, i dont like this idea and feel its wrong, anyway im going to get back to the ebayer as it said end cap on/off, in theory he is right but seems wrong to me, the other one is a mxdl, i think these are romisons ? this is a 5w 3AAA its the brightest of them all and my favourite so far, it has a very solid feel and for under a tenner ok, i wish both the police model the the mdxl had lanyard attachments or clips but there ya go , i have to say though for £1 posted from HK the little mullberry is a bargain, i ordered 2 by mistake ,1 lives in the kitchen draw .

Paul there are 3 kinda tail switches normally  

I. tail cap on/off (or more correctly momentary on only ) which is what you have so the seller is correct I'm afraid  

2.reverse clicky: press until it clicks (on) press again until it clicks (off) bad switches IMHO

3.Forward clicky :press slightly (on momentary/release off) a further press until it clicks  permanent on.press again to off  

[edit} forward clicky's are the best kinda switch 


And then you have twisty switches i.e you twist(normally) the head too change levels TBH these switches have proven to be very reliable

thanks for this info john as i have no clue , so he is right, far enough, its a solid torch and pretty bright so should get some use, im still liking the MXDL though , due to its size i keep it im my rucksack, all good prices, now i have enough torches

well mike, when i cam eon here i had one of those little 1 led lights, a wave, and a climber, well now  5 MT's a few more SAK's although have sold some as well, 7 torches of different types, a EDC type wallet, and a med edc bag next  and who knows whats next, dame you guys,  actually im loving it on here and cant wait to get more, a pst is next on my list

This was my logic too John. I didn't want jump in with an expensive Fenix and when someone here recommended the Romisen I thought best to go for it
I've got a Maglite 2D and a Mini Maglite so this will be my first 'proper' LED torch

Fenix's aren't that expensive, but I do think the Quark series offers a bit more light for slightly less cost. >.>

Jokes aside, the Fenix AA range make really good bike lights as well as being a great regular torch

I have a Fenix and a Romisen amongst others and it's true you get what you pay for to some extent. I think The Romisens are great value for what they are
