Car broken into....
on: June 30, 2009, 06:04:29 PM
So this morning I go out to the car to pick up some boxes and such since we are moving in a few weeks, and what do I find...my door is ajar.  So I'm thinking great, I have left my door open on accident, but no, it was broken into.  Evidently the crooks used a slim jim to open the locks since only the driver door was unlocked and now i won't lock back unles I force it to.  So what did these vermin steal.  My Swisstool Spirit, an LED Lenser Flashlight, a Burp cloth, and the package I was sending to a fellow forum member that had a skeletool in it.  Nothing else, not even my checkbook.  There was a $200 camera flash in the back seat that they didn't take along with various other bits.  I was pretty upset since I had used that Swisstool to help a motorist that got in a pretty bad accident the other day.  I witnessed it and was first to help out.  The pliers punched out a window the and butter knife cut the airbag and the seatbelt.  Well at least the crooks have good taste, but now I have to find a new car multi.  Can't seem to catch a break lately  >:(

I hate thieves. As far as I'm concerned, unless they're absolutely starving, they should have their hands cut off.

I have an idea who did it, but I doubt I will be able to do anything about it.  I saw some kids riding by on bicycles last night who I had never seen int he apartment complex before.  They were riding by real slow and I bet they were casing things out.  They could have got a lot more if they had known what to do with it.  Hopefully whoever got it needed it more than I did.  But who steals a burp cloth?  I mean really?

What's your deductable?

That busted door lock sounds like it would cost a lot to repair.

Sometimes it's not the actual items that are stolen, it's the fact that someone was in your personal space.  In any case I hope you can get through this without many problems.

And that's mighty nice of you EODtech :salute:

Oh by the way we have the same problem in our country regarding car entry, luck your thieves have skills here they use stone to gain entry >:( :( Its a rule here never leave anything you want to lose inside your car, it saves the item and saves the windows too.

I am always trying to explain to my wife why I like this place even though I have never met a single person on here.  Its things like what eodtech has done and what countless other members have done to the other members that makes me happy I joined.  Everyone on this forum is a member of my family and I hope that they feel the same way.  We all have our disagreements i.e Vic vs. LM, who has the best drivers, micky d vs. ben  :D.

All in all this is the best kept secret on the internet.  I hate that I am always posting my bad news, but it truly helps me to be able to vent and for someone just to listen.  Thanks for that.

That's another benefit of the MT forums - it always helps to let others know, seems to lessen the burden in a lot of ways

That's why we are all here  -  for EVERY member !

Wow, that sucks. I hope you catch those crooks. A great MT like a ST Spirit in the hands of thieves, doing evil instead of good... can't stand the thought of it.

And well done, eodtech. People like you make this forum great.

Well done eodtech.. very generous.. the community is lucky to have you here. Thanks.

This is a prime example of what I think sets this board apart and makes it great.

Zack: Hope your door doesn't cost too much to fix and that they catch the little thieving pr*cks.

We've got the equipment to impart some punishment to those kids...I read that Def knows a thing or two about compound leverage titty twisters.

I am really sorry for your recent bout of bad fortune, Zack. Hopefully winning the Locksmith signals the beginning of a long stretch of good luck.  ;)

I have had my car broken into a few times. It baffles me how the thieves never fail to do lots of unnecessary damage and leave the most valuable things behind. It's almost worth leaving your car unlocked.  >:(

And that's extremely nice of you, eodtech.  :salute:
