Eventually I got both the Maratac and iTP upgraded edition. I just love the knurling on the former and the fact that it can tail-stand without losing the keychain carry option, but the latter is spec'ed for higher output (80lm vs 60lm). So, I now carry a franken-light, using iTP's head on Maratac's body. Best of both worlds... :tu: :D

Smarty pants :P

Don't blame you  :tu:
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Is the clip on ITP reversible?

Awesome! That's some serious bang for your buck!

Has anyone had the change to place this up against the Fenix LOD?

Because you can reverse the clip, these lights are good for clipping to the brim of a hat.

I've been EDCing mine for a while now, and the other night I compared it to a 3D Mad with the Mag LED upgrade.  They threw about the same amount of light :o

The Mag can of course shoot farther, but this little LED is powerful.

I have one on the way  :mail:  :D

I'm going to get some 10440's back in(sold some recently )

Not going to run it long with the 10440 due to heat build up but! it will double the output to around 160 lumens  :D and I'll run a 10440 when someone says "that small light can't be that bright","Oh yes it can"  >:D  ;)

Got mine today from gearupeurope.com took a week from Israel and came well packed nice people there  :tu: they ship same day and included a free carabiner for a first time order, nice touch  :tu:

Well for the money this light is great bang for the buck and packs quite a punch for a small light,
80 lumen's max output from a single 1.5 Alkaline battery I'm definitely going to try a  3.7v 10440 battery in this it will almost double the max output to a blinding 160 lumen's  :ahhh  >:D it's not recommended to run this way but for short bursts it'll be fine  ;)

Amazingly the battery weighs 12g the keychain 8g and the light 12g making it very light for EDC if you find it to heavy drop the keychain and save 8g    :D TBH I have already ditched the keychain for me it looked a bit OTT and it's cheap IMO and reminds me of those keychains you get every Christmas in crackers  ::)

Instead I've opted for a SS ball neck chain or just throw it in your pocket it wont take up much room  :salute: the clip is just about adequate but my guess is it wont last to long if it's tugged to much but it'll do if looked after.

Interestingly it has three levels low,mid and high it start up at mid 18 lumens the idea around this is because that out put is used the most,I can see where they're coming from say during the day you just need that little extra light looking under a sideboard or such, although my preference would be low,mid then high cycle it will need a little getting used to but it's no deal breaker for me  ;)

Ok it doesn't tailstand no big deal it's that light you could just press it into some blue-tac or for a more permanent solution glue a SS washer on the tail or just stand it in a cup problem solved  ;)

The beam is buttery smooth no rings or artefacts at all and it has a nice broad hot spot and even spill  :tu:

All in all then a very impressive little light and is it worth the 17 nuggets I paid hell yeah so much so I'm getting the SS version too  :D before someone at itp wakes up smalls the coffee and ups the price,go out and buy one guys you wont be disappointed I'm certain  :tu:

here's a picture compared to the battery and a mag solitare  ;)

I'm a fan too.  Like John I ditched the cheapy key ring and just drop it in my pocket, I've not bothered with the clip either.  I deliberating as to whether to remove the bump on its bum so it'll tail stand.

I'm not overly impressed with the clip as it seems to bend easily... I think the dropping it in the pocket option is quite good though

I'm always juggling things in my pockets so they don't trash each other.

Tail stand you say?  :D

I quickly got to experimenting I came up with a non-permanent solution a nylon spacer fixed in place with Tessa tape, strong but removable also in the experiment I added a neo-magnet for fun and to see if I would use it that way,so far I'm liking the tails stand mod  :salute:

Now some pictures  ;) the mag's dimensions are thus 10mm dia x 1mm thick, the spacer is one used in book binding it's 10 mm dia tapering to 12 mm dia and 4mm thick this is the main thing, you could use any spacer 12 mm dia x 4 mm thick without the taper it's just what I had around ;)

spacer fixed in place,

perfect tail standing  ;)

I added a neo magnet this can be left off,

options with magnet,it will stay put almost anywhere metallic due to the low weight of the light  ;)

A simple mod guys and easily reversed  :salute:  :D
