New Tim package came in today.
on: July 31, 2009, 02:31:54 AM
Yay it came in today!

I took a few photographs.

A group shot of those I took photographs for this round.

From top to bottom: First Production 1 of 1000 Run New Soldier, New Soldier, SwissBianco New Soldier.

My first 108mm SAKS. An Aitor GAK, and a Vic Solo Adventurer.

Wow, I really like this shape and size. I can see why these are prized.

Stainless Steel Director

Now this is interesting. No emblem, but the shape and feel are excellent.

Super Tinker with wooden scale.

Not sure who moded this Super Tinker, but they did a good job. Love the feel of the wooden scales.

Two versions of the Mini Champ.

It amazes me how many tools they can pack into a very small package.

Wengorinox.

I finally got one yay! A Wenger model with Victorinox produced scales/toothpick/tweezers.

Wenger Evo14 Softgrip (I think)

Can’t seem to find this model in red scales. Might explain why Tim called this one a special.

Wenger Ranger Grip 178 OD and  Ranger 172 Gardner.

Wenger Ranger Grip 178 Olive Drab.

Wenger Ranger 172 Gardner.

Man oh men are these things huge. Photographs just don’t tell the full story.  I will try anyways.

From left to right: Victorinox sterling silver Classic, Victorinox Old Soldier,  Victorinox SwissChamp, Victorinox WorkChamp XL, Victorinox New Soldier,  Victorinox Rescue Tool,  Victorinox Sentinel Solo Pocket clip,  Wenger Ranger Grip 178 OD, Wenger Ranger 172 Gardner.

Same order, just on their sides to show you the thickness differences.

That is it for now.

Now I know why there's nothing left for me on his site right now  ::)

You have some lovely pieces there for someone who doesn't collect SAKs  ;)

OLF. I am beginning to worry about you.

May I suggest a nice cup of hot chocolate, some soothing music, and a nice warm bath with a touch of lavender and some candles to set the mood.

Wow.  Your Minichamps don't include the original (Like mine  :D), ie, no caplifter.

Nice haul.

Chako,

Man.....nice haul bud. You got me drooling over here!

What do you think of them Wenger Rangers? They have become my favorite of the larger framed SAK's. The size is excellent and they are much more comfy in the hand than the Vic OHT's.

Well, I really like the Ranger 172. The implementation of the scissors shows some real engineering that I can truly appreciate.

It is true, they are super comfortable in the hands, and my big paws find these just the right size. I do have to wonder at the thickness of the scales. I find them a bit too wide. I guess they had to do that to make them more ergonomic.

Yeah, the scales are a bit on the thick side compared to others. Here's a backspring shot of the two I have, a earlier Ranger and one of the new RangerGrip versions..........

........the thickness is likely due to the ergonomic shape. But I don't find them too thick. I actually prefer it. I got big mits too so that's likely why.
