I'm very interested in the C7 ITP light. Any thoughts on this?

Teofilo,

If you like it get it. All of the iTP lights are excellent torches for the money. The quality is as good as the bigger names out there, they use premium CREE emitters, and they have a simple UI. For about the past 4 months or so I have been carrying and using a iTP E50 as both my work and EDC light...........

It has been nothing but flawless in function since I got it. I did a detailed review of mine here: http://www.knifeforums.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/847129/

They are rugged simple lights at a affordable price. I highly recommend them.

Excellent review. 2xTap! :tu:
What I like about ITP light, besides the combination of orange and smooth peel for a farther throw, is that you can set the beam, depending on use from 6 to 180 lumens (for the C7 and C9)! and with memory of the last setting even when the light is switched off.

Teofilo,

Thanks! Yeah, the adjustable output setting is the same on mine as well. It's very easy to do, a simple UI. And it works well. You can't go wrong with them.

The specs of the C7-R says it uses 1 AA battery and has a maximum output of 190 lumens! Is it true or just over rated?

I'm interested with C7 because it can also be powered with 14500 aside from AA NimH battery .

Anybody tried using a 14500 bat with any C7 model?

Ed, just using 1AA NiMh, I don't know of any light that has an output of 190 lumens! Is it possible?

Teofilo,

That is rated at the emitter, but true "out the front" lumens will be a bit lower. Very few companies rate their lights and test them for OTF Lumens. But the perceivable difference is negligible.

As to your mention of "I don't know of any light that has an output of 190 lumens! Is it possible?"...........there are many that surpass 190 Lumens of true output. Quite a few of the lights on the market now that use a 2 cell set-up (Lithium or rechargeable) or more and have emitters of CREE Q5 or better surpass the 190 Lumen mark in OTF Lumens.

But as I mentioned earlier the perceivable difference from a visual perspective is difficult. At higher intensities it's not easy to distinguish an actual output difference of 30 or so lumens when you are in the 170 to 200 range.

noth,

The iTP EOS hit the market here under another name and from all accounts so far has been a hit. It's sold by County Comm under the Maratac brand as the Maratac AAA. Check it out here: http://www.countycomm.com/aaa.html

From what I have read of the lengthy discussion over at CPF, these are great little lights. But I don't own one yet.

Thanks dude. I already have a Maratac AAA on the way and knew it's essentially the same light as the EOS (although spec'ed somewhat differently wrt diameter and max lumens on CC's site), and since this was an iTP thread I thought I'd ask what you thought of it.

I need to get one myself, I'm not one much for AAA lights but this one has potential.

But......I just dropped a large bit of coin on another just a few minutes ago so any further lights are going to have to wait.

Olight M30 Triton incoming!  :viking:

You're right gene!

There is no light powered by single AA that can give 190 lumens output. The C7 can possibly give 190 lumens if powered by 14500.
